When a murder, shooting or cuttings with intent to kill or wotmci occurs, <br />or other henious crime is co~aitted, and evidence of the same is secured, it <br />shall be marked "HELD AS EVSI3ENCE", and turned over to the Chief of Police. <br />Rule 9. In all cases of arrests and detention of ~uveni.les, the officer in <br />charge of the station ahal.l cause the parents, guardians or relatives to be <br />notified. <br />Rule 10. The affieer in charge of the station shall not detain any parser on a <br />charge of the ca®mi.ssion of a felony unless he believes that a felony has been <br />committed. <br />Rule 11. When a prisoner is brought to the station, the officer in charge shall <br />inquire into the particulars of the cos®~ and if in consultation with the officer <br />making the arrest, he is satisfied there is not sufficient cause for the arrest, <br />he may allow the prisoner to go Eras, and shall record the same with the facts <br />in the case, in a book kept for that, purpose, <br />Rule 12, When a person is brought to the station and the officer in charge is <br />satisfied there is sufficient cause and sufficient evidence to secure a eonvie- <br />tion, he will, hold .said person; making the proper entry on the blotter, search <br />the prisoner, take charge of any money or valuables found on said person together <br />with any weapon or dangerous instrument, giving said person a receipt for all <br />property taken, carefully marking said property with the prisoners name and the <br />date; property to be held as evidence shall be so marked, and turned over to the <br />Chief of Police. <br />Rule 13. When a prisoner or other person in the police station is in need of <br />medical attention, the officer in charge shall summon the Chief of Police, If <br />unable to secure his services, ha shall summon the nearest physician, or convey <br />the person to the neax~eat hospital, <br />Rule 14. Superior officers shall not leave the city during their tour of duty <br />without permission of the Chief of Police, except in case of emergency or i~or-~ <br />tent police business. All reports by superior officers must be in writing and <br />addressed to the officer irr comrnand,~ who shall forward same through regular <br />channels to the Chief of Police. <br />s~au of <br />CRIMINAL IDENTIFIC~ITION <br />Rule 15. The member detai~e d in charge of, and members detailed to the Bureau <br />of Criminal Identification, shall be subject to such rules and regulations as <br />as may be prescribed by the Chief of Police, and the rules and regulations of <br />the police department, and shall carry out all instructions given by the Chief <br />of Police or other superior officer. <br />RAD~ <br />Rule 16. Members of the Department assigned to radio broadcasting shall. be re- <br />sponsible far the dispatching of radio equipped vehicles to the scene of any crime <br />or other occuxxence demanding attention, and for the broadcasting of such other <br />information as may be required. Radio dispatchers and other police officers <br />"" transmitting radio messages shall observe all the rules and regulations of the <br />Via. Federal Communications Coannission. <br />
