<br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTLD <br />ORIXNANCE NO. 65- Pam <br />for solid tires , nor thirty-eight thousand pounds for pnausic <br />tires;. nor than the total weight of vehicle and load exceed, for <br />solid rubber tires, twenty-eight thousand' pounds plus an addi- <br />tional six hundred pounds for each foot or fraction thereof of <br />spacing between the fivnt axle and the rearmost axle of the <br />vehicle , ,nor excsslei ,thirty-sight thousand pounds plus an addi- <br />tional nine hung pounds for each foot of spacing betareen the <br />front axle and the rearmost axle of the vehicle for pneumatic <br />tires,; nar shall the weight of vehicle and load imposed upon the <br />road surface by any vehicle exceed seventy-eight thousand <br />pounds for pneumatic tires; nor shall such weight of vehicle and <br />load exceed, for solid tires, eighty per cssR of the permissible <br />weight of vehicle and load, as provided for pneumatic tires . <br />Notwithstanding any other provision of law, when a vehicle is <br />towing another vehicle, such drawbar or other connection shall <br />be of a length such as will limit the spacing between nearest <br />axles of the respective vehicles to a distance not in excess of <br />twelve feet and six inches . Provided, further that in the event <br />the provisions of this section should be held to exceed the weight <br />limitations, or provisions set forth in subsection (~ of Section <br />108 Title 23, of the Federal-Aid Highway Aci of 195.6, this Sec- <br />tion shall become null and void to the extent of such inconsistency. <br />Section 5. That Section 339.06, (formerly 339.03) Chapter 339, <br />Title Five of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, entitled <br />"Maximum Width, Height and Length, " and reading as follows: <br />"No vehicle shall be operated upon the public streets, bridges <br />and culverts within the Municipality, whose width is greater <br />than ninety-six inches, including the load, except mar <br />vehicles of the passenger bus type, operated exclusively within <br />the Municipality, whose width shall not exceed one hundred <br />four inches., and except traction engines whore width shall not <br />exceed one hundred thirty-two inches. No vehicles unladen or <br />with load of a greater height than thirteen feet six inches shall <br />be operated on such streets , bridges and culvs , or of a gt^eater <br />length than thirty-five feet, except the saNttrailsr of a coraaasrcial <br />tractor and semitrailer cc~IMlnation which may have a length not to <br />exceed forty feet, also except motor vehicles of the passenge <br />bus type with three or more axles ~r-hose length shall not exc1 <br />forty feet and except motor vehicles of the pas#en~t bus type, <br />operated exclusively within the Municipality, whose length shall <br />not exceed forty-eight feet. No commercial trac#or and semitrailer <br />shall be operated in combination of a greater length then fifty feet, <br />including load, and no other combination. of vehicles coupled together <br />shall be so operated whose total length, includ#nq load, shall be <br />greater than sixty feet. In special cases vehicles whose dimen- <br />sions exceed those prescribed by this section may operate in <br />accordance with rules and regulations promulgated by the Ohio <br />Director of Highways . ' <br />"This section does not apply to fire engines , fire trucks , or other <br />vehicles or apparatus belonging to any municipal corporation or <br />to the volunteer fire department of any municipal corporation or <br />salvage company organized under the laws of this State or used <br />by such department or company in the discharge of its functions . <br />This section does not apply to vehicles and pole trailers used <br />in the transportation of wooden and metal poles, nor to the trans- <br />portation of pipes or well-drilling equipment, nor to farm machinery <br />and equipment . " . <br />
