Ordinance No. 790 By Mr. AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF SERGEANT IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FIXING THE SALARIES AND BONDS OF SOME OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE DEPARTMENT. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: Section 10 That from and after the effective date Of this ordinance there shall be a Sergeant in the Police Department, who shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Council. The compensation of.the Sergeant in the Police Department shall be Thirty -eight Hundred Dollars (03800.00) per year and he shall give bond in the sum of $1000.00. Section 2. That from and after the effective date Of this ordinance.. regular members of the Police Department shall be paid Thirty -two Hundred Dollars-($3200.00) for the first year d Thirty -six two Dollars ($3600.00) for the second year and each year thereafter and they shall furnish bond in the sum of 1000':00. Section 3. That from and after the effective date Of this ordinance regular firemen shall receive Thirty -two Hundred Dollars (43200.00) for the first year and Thirty -six Hundred Dollars 03600.00) for the second year and each year thereafter and they shall furnish bond in the sum of x$''1000.00. Section 4. That from and after the effective date of this ordinance, the Chief of the Fire Department shall re- ceive Thirty -eight Hundred Dollars 03800.00) per year and he shall give bond in the sum of $1000.00. Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances Inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. Section 6. This ordinance is hereby declared to be emergency measure, the emergency being that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of public health, safety and Property that this ordinance be passed at once and take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
