happening complained of. <br />b. An employee may present a grievance personally <br />or through the Committee of the Employees Group to the Mayor, who <br />shall refer the same to the Transportation Committee of Council <br />for a hearing. This may be done orally or in writing. The Mayor <br />Will inform the Committee or employee when the Transportation <br />Committee will hear the complaint or grievance and every effort <br />Will be made to settle grievances as soon as possible. After the <br />Transportation Committee has heard the grievance, if sdid Com- <br />mittee is unable to settle the matter, the same shall be referred <br />to Council for its action at the next regular meeting. <br />The Mayor shall have the right to intervene in any dis- <br />pute between the Committee of the Employees.Group and the Council <br />if he deems it desirable or necessary in the interest of the <br />Village. <br />Section <br />3. <br />SENIORITY. The <br />man longest <br />in <br />continuous <br />service shallhave <br />the <br />first choice of <br />runs and so <br />on <br />down the <br />list until all runs have been filled. The right of selection of <br />runs will be granted to drivers every three months and the driver <br />shall have the right to make the selection of his run in accord- <br />ance with his seniority standing as provided above, with exception <br />Of emergency schedules. Any extra trips shall be given out accord- <br />ing to the seniority of the available drivers. All regular <br />schedules will be :posted at least five days before going into <br />effect, whenever possible, in order to give each driver the <br />Opportunity to determine the run which he desires. <br />Vacancies shall be filled on the first of each month. <br />When a driver has been granted a leave of absence for <br />thirty days or more, there shall immediately be granted a move- <br />up on that particular run, or in case of sickness where it is <br />apparent that the employee will be off for a period of thirty <br />days or more, there,shall be granted a move -up on that particular <br />run <br />When a driver has been out of service .due to sickness <br />or leave of absence and returns to the service, he shall have <br />the right to return to his run originally picked or to pick a <br />run in accordance with seniority. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
