Ordinance No. 779 <br />By Mr. Romp <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING HUNTING IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH OLMSTED. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That no person shall hunt, pursue or kill <br />with a gun any wild bird or wild animal in the Village of North <br />Olmsted without first obtaining a permit from the Police Department. <br />Section 2. Hunting permits shall be issued by the <br />Police Department upon application which shall state the appli- <br />cant's name, address, age and such other information as the <br />Police Department may require. <br />Section 3. At the time a permit is issued, the <br />Village shall furnish the permit holder with a tag or badge <br />to be worn on the back of the hunter designating that he holds <br />a permit for hunting, which badge and permit shall be returned <br />to the Village when the permit expires. <br />Section 4. Permits to the residents and non - resident <br />owners of property in the Village of North Olmsted shall be <br />issued free and for the season. <br />Section 5. Permits issued to persons who are neither <br />Property owners nor residents of :the Village of North Olmsted <br />shall be for use on one day only, the date to be stated in the <br />Permit., and not more than twenty -five such permits shall be <br />issued on any one day. <br />Section 6. No permits to hunt shall be issued to <br />Persons who are neither property owners nor residents of the <br />Village of North Olmsted for the first two days of the pheasant <br />hunting season. <br />Section 7. Applicants for permits who are not resi- <br />dents or property owners in the Village of North Olmsted shall <br />make a deposit of $1.50 at the time the permit is issued., <br />01.00 of which shall be refunded when the badge or tag is re- <br />turned,, which badge or tag shall be returned on the day on <br />which it is issued aryl, if not returned on the day it is issued., <br />then the Village shall retain the 01.00, the $0.50 being retained <br />for issuing the permit. <br />Section 8. No permit shall be issued to a non - <br />resident applicant unless he produces a hunting license and <br />his application is signed by a resident of the Village and <br />said resident shall sponsor only one hunter per day, and if <br />the applicant has obtained a badge or tag on a previous applica- <br />tion., he must have returned the badge on the day issued, other- <br />Wise no permit shall be Issued. <br />Section 9. No hunting shall be permitted in the <br />areas posted as Game Sanctuaries nor within 500 . f eet of any <br />building. <br />Section 10. The Mayor may appoint not to exceed <br />twenty persons as special deputy marshals to act as game wardens <br />during the hunting season, who shall serve without pay. <br />Section 11. Any person violating any of the provisions <br />Of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and <br />upon conviction thereof shall be fined not to exceed $25.00. <br />Section 12. This ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure, the emergency being that it is necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of public health., safety., peace <br />and welfare,that this ordinance be passed at once and shall take <br />effect -Wand be-`in force from and after its passage. <br />Passed: October 4, 1949. <br />-- er ayor <br />Ap% 9/ y 9 '�t e f <br />
