<br />MINUTES OF A MEETINC OF THE COUIJCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
<br />NORTH OIMSTED, OHIO. Present were Clarence J. Oviatt, Mayor., E. Baumgardner, Fred Hatton, Wm. H.
<br />Kramer, Dr. C. B. I,ewis,$ Roger Paddock, B, Scott.
<br />The minutes of June 6, 1950 were read, and approved as corrected.
<br />Mr. Kramer reported ttn.t no action would be taken on the purchase of the one-
<br />man Grader, until the next meeting.
<br />r'r. Jim Yielding of the Cleveland Electric Illilmi.natin; Company presented a
<br />plan for street lighting for Lorain and Butternut ftidge Roads in particular.
<br />Mr. Baumgardner, Chairman of the Transportation Cormmittae reported that the
<br />new bus garage had not been waterproofed. :
<br />It was moved and seconded that the Clerk be instructed to place in escrow
<br />$3500.00 for the Koelewyn property and $600.00 for the Swartz pmperty.

<br />Mr. Scott, as Chairman of the Building and Groi;nds Committee reported that no
<br />building could be erected to house the grader until we lmow the size of the
<br />grader.
<br />Mr. Hatton, Chairman of t he Planning Commission reported that ths Planning
<br />Commission recommended changing from Residence to Retail Business the 1371
<br />strip on Lora,in NAad and back as far as the barn on the Ackerer property.. The
<br />Planning Commission a].so recoirnnended that the Sherwin Williams property in its
<br />entirety, at 27254 I,orain ftoad, be rezoned from residence to retail business.
<br />Ordinance #825 was introduced by Dr. Lewis. An Ordinance to amend the Zone
<br />Map and Zoning Ordinance of the Village of North Olmsted by changing from a
<br />residence district to a retail business district, t he property hereinafter
<br />described. (Sherwin Williams). This Orclinance was gi.ven its first reading
<br />only,
<br />A-pt Wissmann reported on the Root Road ditch.
<br />It was mved and seconded that the Mayor and Clerk be instructed to buy a
<br />?w power mower for the cemeteries - and sell the old power mower. t'Yeasn

<br />The Maynr advised that he appointed Andy Csordas to t he Street Department.

<br />Resolution #161+7 waS introduced by Mr. Baumgardner. A Resolution fixing the
<br />compensation of Edward Roberts, and Robert Gilchrist in the Street Department.
<br />Moved and seconded that the above ftesolution be adopted as read. "Yeas"
<br />, Bauingar'dner, Hatton, Krarier, L•ewis, Paddock, Scott.
<br />14r. Crider, the Buildirg, Commissianer submitted a report of recommended increased
<br />. fees of Build3.ng$ plumbing and Electrical Permits for Council's consideration,
<br />and also requested that we purchase a set of plat books.
<br />A com¢nunication was received from the Bureau of Census statin.g that the pre-
<br />ZiminarY returns showed a population of 6,,574 for North Olmsted. '
<br />There were no objections to the change of zon3ng on the Joecken and Ehrbar
<br />ProPerties.
