<br />MINUTES OF A MELTING OF TI-E COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
<br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO.
<br />Present were Clarence J. Oviatt, Mayor, E. Baumgardner, Fred Hatton, tqm. H.
<br />Kramer, Dr. C. B. Lewis, Roger Paddock., B. Scott.
<br />The mi.nutes of rlay::16, 1950 were read and approved. Mx'. Wir.sper administered the oath of office to Dr. C. B. Lewis, as Councilman.
<br />Mr. Baum,gardner, Chairman of the Transportation Conunittee, recomraended that
<br />the Sunday starting job be put on the Board.
<br />rr. Baumgardner, as Chairman of the Transportation Committee, stated that
<br />inasmuch as tre balance in the Bus Fund was low, we might have to raise
<br />fares.
<br />Ed Smith & Son submitted a bid of 0964.28 for the new bull pen, which is to
<br />be brick veneer, including all the cement work, brick work, windows and
<br />cement floor.
<br />Resolution #1636 was introduced by Mr. Baumgardner. A Resolution accepting
<br />the bid of Ed Smith & Son to erect a bull pen, and authorizing the Mayor
<br />and Clerk to enter into a contract. It was moved and seconded that the
<br />statutory rule be suspended and the Resolution be read immediately the second
<br />and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion
<br />was as foll.ows• Baurrgardner, Hatton, Kramer, Lewiss Paddock., Scott. There-
<br />upon the Resolution was read the second and third ti.mes and put upon its
<br />passage and the affirmative vote was as follows: Baumgardner, Hatton, Kra.mer,
<br />Lewis, Paddock, Scott.
<br />A letter was read from R. G. Haley Company, quoting the foll.owin; prices on
<br />: AC 1/2" treated poles:

<br />6o ft. ------------ 124.50 It was mved and seconded that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to buy new
<br />Poles to replace those now in the soft ball field. "Yeas" Baumgardner, Hatton,

<br />T'r. Hatton, Chairman of the Plar.ning Connissionp reported that the request of
<br />MrS• DiVello, 3005 Clague Road, to operate a pastry business in her garage had
<br />been refused. Also that the request of r1r. Berta, for a Barber Shop at 26331
<br />I'°rain Road, be refused. Mr. Ackerer's reauest that 1371 on Loraa.n Road east
<br />of the Loser property be changed from residence to retail business,was tabled
<br />until he c2.ti appear before the Planning Commission.
<br />Resolution #1637 was introduced by Mr. Baumbardner. A Resolution fixing the
<br />compensation of Frank Eskins, Sr. It was moved and seconded that the statutory rule be suspended and the Resolution be read immediately the second and third
<br />times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as
<br />follows• Baumgardner, Hatton, Kramer, Lewis, Paddock, Scott. Thereupon the
<br />Resolution was read the second and third times and put upon its passage and
<br />the affirmative vote was as follows: Baumgardner, Hatton, Kramer, Lewis,
<br />Paddock, Scott.
<br />Fred Crider, the Building Commissioner:, recommended that aerial survey
<br />photos be obtained from the Regional Planning Corm;v.ssion to be used in the
<br />Preparation of the North Olmsted ditch map, at an approximate maximum cost
<br />of $127*00. It was moved and seconded that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized
<br />to purchase Aerial .Survey Photos so as to prepa.re amap. "Yeas" Baiirqgardner,
<br />Hatton, Kramer, Lewis, Paddock, Scott.
<br />Crider advised that Mr. Ware of Sherwnn 'v7illiams had requested permission
<br />for that company to enlarge their laboratory, located on Lorai.n Road near
<br />Dover Road, to a 120 x 500 building, to be used as their main printing plant.
