President of Council., <br />L. H. Baker, R. L. Decker, R. G. Knapp$ Willia,m H. Kramear.. R. G. Neubauer, <br />G. H. Schwenk. Mr. Harry M. Crider was absent. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Kramer and seconded by Mr. Neubauer that the minutes of <br />August 2s, 1955 be appmved as read. uYeas" Baker., Decker, Knapp., Kramer., Neubauers, <br />Schwenk. . <br />A motion was made by Mr. Knapp and seconded by Mr. Schwenk that the minutes oP ; <br />August 8, 1955 be approved as read. "Yeas" Bakers, Decker, Knapp, Kramer,, Neubauer., <br />Sclmenk. . <br />Mr. Neubauerj, Chairman of the Transportation Cammittee reported on negotiations with <br />the Tranaportation Comni.ttee of Fairview and recommended that school tickets be in- <br />creaeed from 5¢ to 8¢ and that student fares into Clemeland be increased by 5¢.; <br />Ordinance #2192 was introduced by Mr. Neubauer. An Ordinance fixing the rate of <br />Pare for transportation service on the North 0],msted Municipal Bus Line on and <br />after September l, 1955. It was moved and seconded that the statutory rule be sus- <br />pended arrd the Ordinance be read imrnediately the second and third times and put ou <br />its passage., The affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Baker, Decker, <br />Knapp.0 Kramer, Neubausr, Schwenk. Thereupon the Ordinance was read ths second and <br />third times and put upon ita passage and the affinnative vote thereon xas as followss <br />Baker, Decker, Knapp, Kramer., Neubauers, Schwenlc. <br />Mr, Schwenk reported that the energeney car had been delivered ta the Fire Department <br />and was being lettered. Mr. Baker reported one weltare cases, and stated that up to the present t3me the <br />county had not responded._ <br />? . <br />A Public Hearing was held on rezoning froan an AA Residence Diatrict to a Retail <br />Busine$s Districts, parcels of land on Dover Center Road north of Lora3n $oad and <br />adjoining the present retail business district aorth oY Irorain Road. <br />Mr. Schneider of Dover Center Road voiced his ob3ections to having retail business <br />on Dover Genter Road, when there was plenty of rooaa on Lorain Road. Mr. Zellere of <br />Sherwin-Williams Co. and Mr. M. B. Pohner requeated the rezoning. <br />Ordinance #2170 was given 3ts third reading. A motion was made by Mr. Schwenk and <br />seconded bq Mr. Decker that the above Ordinance be adopted. "Yeas" Bakers, Decker, <br />Knapp, Kramers, Neubauer, Schwenk, <br />A, Public Hearing was held on rezoning Proaa an AAA ftesidai ce District to a Retail : <br />Business District, parcel of land on the southerly side of Lorain Road to the south <br />of the present retail business district between Clague and Columbia Roads. (Olah <br />, property). . . <br />There were no obJectioas. . „ <br />? Ordinance #2171 was given 3ts third reading. A motion was made by Mr. Knapp arnt <br />seconded by Mr. Neubauer that the above Ordinance be adopted. ."Yeas" Decker, Knapp, <br />Neubauer., Schwenk. "Nays" Baker., Kramer. <br />Mz'. Walton A. Rathb= of 3836 Columbia Road.. presented a petition signed by 325 <br />residents, protesting the citpls action'3n establishing a landfill in their asigh- <br />borhood for the dispos3tion af garbage and rubbish. A number of other residents <br />voiced their obJections to the use'of this ].and as a`sanitar9 landfill. <br />Ordinance #2193 was intro3uced by Mr. Knapp. An Ordinance authorizing the Satety- <br />Serv3.ce Director ta enter into a contract with the City of Rocky River Por iurnish- <br />--ing copies of police teletype service to the cityo It xas moved and seconded'that <br />the statutory rule be Buspended and the Ordinance was read iawediately the second <br />and third t3mes and put on its passage.
