JULY 5o 1955. <br />IZINtJTES GF A MEETING OF THE CQUNCIL OF TFE CITY OF <br />NORTH OTMSTEI), OHIO <br />Present were Dr. C, B. Lewis, Mayor, E. W. Bawngardner, President of Council, <br />L. H. Baker, Harry M. Crider, R. L. Decker, R. G. Knapp, William H. Kramer, <br />G. H. Scharen:c. Mr. Neubauer was absent. , <br />A motion was made by Mr. Crider and secanded by Mr. Kramer that the minute3 of <br />June 21, 1955 be approved as read. "Yeas" Bakero Crider., Decker., Knapp, Kramer, <br />Sctrdenk. . <br />The Sa.fety-Service Director reported that the Board of Control had awarded the <br />contract for a new roof on the City Hall to Murton Roofing Company in the amount of $1249.00. <br />Resolution #2162 was introduced by Mr. Baker. A ftesolution authorizing repairs <br />and installation of new Town Hall roof. It was ttoved and seconded that the statu- <br />tory rule be suspended and the Resolution be read immediately the second and third <br />times and put on'its passage. The affirmative vote on'said motion was as follows: <br />Baker, Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer.$ Schwenlt. Thereupon the Resolution was read <br />the second and third times and put upon its passage ancl the affirmative vote thereon <br />was as follaws: Baker, Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Schwenk. <br />The Safety Service Director reported that the Board of Control had awarcied the bid <br />for a new 4-Door Station lydagon to the Euclid Ford Campar?y in the amount of $1941.7$. <br />Resolution #2163 was introduced by Mr. Baker. A Resolution authorizing purchase <br />of Station ti-dagon. It was moved and seconded that the statutory rule be suspended <br />and the ftesolution be read imediately the second and third times and pnt on its <br />passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker, <br />Knapp, Kramer, Schwenk. Thereupon the ftesolution was read the second and third times <br />and put upon its passage and the vote thereon was as follows: "Yeas" Crider., Decker. <br />"Nays" Baker, Knapp, Kramer, Schwenk. (biotion lost). <br />The Safety-Service Director presented an easement for a water line on proposed <br />Theresa La.ne. <br />Resolution #2164 was introduced by Mr. Baker. A Resolution accepting water easement <br />on Theresa Lane, N. F. liolnar, Inc. Sub-Division. It was noved and seconded that <br />the abova ftesolution be adopted as read. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Knapp, . <br />Kramer, Schwenk. <br />The SafetyService Direator recoenmended that the plat of Rosita Lane be approved <br />by Council inasmuch as K& L Builders were presenting thair certified check for <br />018,000.00 as bond for storm sewer and water line - and bond by Home Irydemnity <br />Company of New York in the amount of $29,,125.00 for paving and sidewa1k. <br />Ordinance #2165 was introduced by Mr. Schwenk. An Ordinance accepting Rosita Lane <br />of Crestwood Sub-Division for dedication, It was moved and seconded that the statu- <br />tory rule be suspended and the Ordinance be read itsmediately the second and third <br />t3mes and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as follrnas: <br />Baker, Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Schwenk. Thereupon the Ordinance was read <br />the second and third times and put upon its passage and the vote thereon was as follows; "Yea" Schwenk.. "Nays" Balcer., Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer. (Motion lost). <br />A notion was made by Zsr. Schwenk and seconded by Mr. Kramer whereby the vote was lost <br />on the adoption of Ordinance #2165, that the matter be reconsidered. "Yeas" Baker, <br />Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Schwenk. <br />Thereupon it zias moved by Mr. Sclrgenk and seconded by Mr. Decker that we again vote <br />on the adoption of Ordinance #2165. Thereupon the vote was as follows: Baker, Crider, <br />Decker, KnaPp, Kramer, Schwenic. <br />I" <br />i <br />'. <br />? <br />? <br />? <br />; <br /> <br />The Safety-Service Director asked the Chief of Police to give an outline of the <br />county w3.de teletype sfstem which is to be handled by Rocky River. We will receive <br />information every day of a11 crimes committed in Cuyahooa County, znd will also aave <br />the right to call in anytine we want a county-wide broadcast. We now pay $100.00 <br />per year for system handled through Fairview. Nett system would run $120.00 a year <br />plus $70.00 every sixteen months, but we would get a much broader coverage of _ <br />crimes comrnitted for the additional 090.00. Cost is to be divided among the five <br />surrounding municipalities.
