The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed
unanimously. Dave Anderson appointment to the Planning and Design Commission
approved 7-0.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Jeff Sturgeon, 3092 W. 231 asked if somebody from the city can take a look at the
property next to his mother's property where the lot split was done by CVS. There is a
driveway off of Clague that goes nowhere. When the lot split was done, the old driveway
was left there and CVS installed an overhead light in a different lot that they do not own.
Now there is about a 40 foot wide apron off of Clague Road and people think they can
get to CVS this way. The apron just stops, and there is a drop off into a muddy area back
there. He has seen approximately 20 cars since Thanksgiving that turn into this driveway
that is not the entrance to CVS. About 8 cars have been towed because they get stuck
back there. In the past, the city had cones and barrels there to prevent people from
turning into this driveway. Councilman Barker said the Service Dept. and the Service
Director discuss this every year because he has received calls about numerous cars
turning into the apron. A guardrail has been suggested, but the city would have to
approach the property owner. He is not sure why the barrels are not there anymore
because they helped. Councilman Barker recommended that the barrels be placed there
again to deter people from driving in there. Mayor Kennedy said he is aware of the
problem and he will look into this. Gareau said there was an approved development for
that second lot, and he is not sure if the lighting/sign were installed around the same time.
There was a separate structure that was approved by Council that was never built.
3
