Council Minutes of 10 -07 -2014 <br />storage of firewood and provides setbacks for firewood storage on side lots and <br />rear yards. Furthermore, this will prevent firewood from being stored in front <br />yards. With the increase in residents burning wood for heat, this will provide <br />guidelines for storage and will be monitored by the Building Dept. When <br />originally discussed, there was a provision concerning front yards. That was <br />misplaced and so tonight Council will add that to this amended section. There <br />was some discussion and comments that this will also help with the covering of <br />swales in the back of lots. Councilman Barker made a motion to recommend <br />approval of 2014 -67 with the amendment of front yard provision to be voted on <br />the floor during the report. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman <br />Williamson, and the committee voted 2 -0 to recommend approval of Ordinance <br />2014 -67 with the amendment. The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to amend Ordinance 2014 -67 to include the following <br />amendment under Section 1363.302.13(e): The storage of firewood is only permitted on <br />the side and rear yard. su jeet to the fello. ing eonditions: Firewood shall not be stored <br />in the front yard. "Front Yard" as used herein means the yard extending from the <br />front wall of a building to the front lot line across the full width of the lot Firewood <br />shall be subject to the following additional conditions. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2014 -67 amended 7 -0. <br />Councilman Kearney, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met Tuesday September 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Kearney, Schumann and Barker; Council members Hemann, <br />Limpert and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy and Finance Director Copfer. <br />• Discussed was Ordinance 2014 -65 which is an Ordinance to snake and transfer <br />appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North <br />Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2014, and declaring an emergency. <br />There is money being transferred due to a part -time employee becoming full -time, <br />Bradley Road improvements, preparations for the city's Bicentennial, overtime in <br />the Service Dept. due to snow removal and rain storms, equipment and <br />maintenance in the Recreation Dept. and an adjustment in the FEMA grant fund. <br />The committee voted 3 -0 to recommend approval of Ordinance 2014 -65 with <br />suspension and amendments. <br />Councilman Kearney made a motion to amend Ordinance 2014 -65 (amendments <br />attached). The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance 2014 -65 amended 7 -0. <br />Councilman Kearney, Vice Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings <br />Committee: <br />The Recreation Committee met Tuesday September 23, 2014 at 7:20 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Kearney and Schumann; Council members Barker, Hemann, <br />Limpert and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau and Recreation <br />Commissioner Drenski. <br />
