Council Minutes of 09 -02 -2014 <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• No Report. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• She and Greg Myers attended the TIRC meeting which was held at the County on <br />August 19, 2014. There was nothing to vote on since the TIF wasn't approved <br />until after the first half of 2013 collections. So, the meeting was adjourned with <br />no business being required. <br />• The new Assistant Director of Finance started today. His name is Keith Sperling, <br />and he was the Assistant in Brunswick for two years. He also has over ten years <br />of accounting experience with the Auditor of State. <br />Councilman Brossard, Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee: <br />The Recreation Committee met Tuesday August 26, 2014 at 7:15 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Brossard, Kearney and Schumann; Council members Hemann, <br />Limpert and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy and Recreation Commissioner Drenski <br />• Discussed was 2014 -57 which is a Resolution authorizing the Recreation <br />Commissioner to request proposals ( "RFP ") for cleaning services at the <br />Recreation Center and further authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for <br />said cleaning services with the vendor selected in the RFP process, subject to <br />approval by the Board of Control. Recreation Commissioner Drenski explained <br />with all the new improvements at the center along with the tiles that will be <br />installed in the showers, restrooms and lobby; current cleaning efforts will not be <br />sufficient. Subsequently, the city will be requesting bid proposals for cleaning <br />services. Estimated cost of the cleaning services will be about $2,600 /month. <br />Mayor Kennedy pointed out that in the fitness center, most guests do a decent job <br />of cleaning the equipment after it's used. Councilman Limpert asked whether or <br />not cleaning supplies will be included in the bids the city receives, and the answer <br />was yes. Councilman Brossard made a motion to recommend approval of <br />Resolution 2014 -57. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann, and <br />the committee voted 3 -0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2014 -57. The <br />meeting was adjourned at 7:26 p.m. <br />Councilwoman Williamson, Chairwoman of the Streets & Transportation Committee: <br />The Streets & Transportation Committee met Tuesday August 26, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Williamson, Hemann and Limpert; Council members <br />Brossard, Kearney and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Planning /Development Director <br />Wenger and guests. <br />• Discussed was 2014 -58 which is a Resolution authorizing and directing the <br />Director of Planning and Development to make application on behalf of the City <br />of North Olmsted for Community Development Block Grant Funds for the fiscal <br />year 2015 for the Country Club Boulevard Streetscape Project, Phase II and III; <br />Further authorizing the use of City funds as the local match, further authorizing <br />the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded and to execute a contract with Cuyahoga <br />County, and declaring an emergency. Director Wenger explained that the city had <br />applied for and received a grant in 2011 for Phase I of the Country Club <br />2 <br />
