Council Minutes of 04-21-2015
which will be located at the WWTP, Recreation Center and Springvale Golf
Course and Ballroom. This was discussed during budget hearings, and initial
costs are coming in between $90,000 to $100,000. The Recreation Center sign
will not be digital or lighted as initially proposed due to sufficient overhead
lighting. All proposed designs are similar to the monument signs located at the
city's entrances. Councilman Brossard made a motion to recommend approval of
Resolution 2015-22. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney, and the
committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval. The meeting was adjourned at 8:23
p.m.
Councilwoman Williamson, Chairwoman of the Streets & Transportation Committee:
The Streets & Transportation Committee met Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 7:51 p.m.
Present were committee members Williamson, Hemann and Limpert; Council President
Jones; Council members Barker, Brossard, Kearney and Schumann; Finance Director
Copfer, Safety/Service Director Glauner and guests.
• Discussed was Ordinance 2015-25 which is an Ordinance authorizing the Mayor
to enter into an agreement with the County of Cuyahoga to provide for
resurfacing of Bradley Road from White Oak Lane to the western city limits,
together with additional cooperative terms and conditions, and declaring an
emergency as well as Ordinance 2015-26 which is an Ordinance authorizing the
Mayor to enter into an agreement with the County of Cuyahoga to provide for
resurfacing of Mastick Road from Columbia Road to the eastern city limits,
together with additional cooperative terms and conditions, and declaring an
emergency. Director Glauner explained that these two Ordinances are similar in
that the County is requesting an agreement with the city so they may begin the
resurfacing project for both Mastick and Bradley Roads. The county will conduct
all of the engineering, studies and work, and cover all costs for the resurfacing of
these two roads. There will be no cost to the city for this project. The city will be
required to maintain the roads, and the resurfacing will begin in 2016. The
committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of both Ordinances. The meeting
was adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
Councilman Schumann, Chairman of the Building, Zoning & Development Committee:
The BZD Committee met Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 7:15 p.m. Present were committee
members Schumann, Barker and Williamson; Council President Jones; Council members
Brossard, Hemann, Kearney and Limpert; Planning and Development Director Wenger,
Assistant Law Director O'Malley and Safety/Service Director Glauner.
• Discussed first was CMS14-2809 Verizon Building Project — this proposal
consists of small development plan changes.
