Council Minutes of 05-06-2015 <br /> • On Monday of this week, the City of North Olmsted filed its brief in the matter of <br /> Mr. Bielozer's attempt to overturn his termination in the arbitration process. The <br /> city expects a ruling this summer. <br /> • He is pleased to announce the hiring of Kaitlyn Kilbane as Law Clerk in the City <br /> of North Olmsted Law Dept. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • No report. <br /> Council President Jones, Committee of the Whole: <br /> The Committee of the Whole met Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Present were all <br /> members of Council except Councilman Brossard, Mayor Kennedy, Law Director <br /> Gareau, Human Resources Director Farver, Planning/Development Director Wenger and <br /> the applicant, Brian Zergott. <br /> • Discussed was the consideration of an application for placement of farmland in an <br /> agricultural district for permanent parcel no. 234-14-010 located at 29895 Lorain <br /> Road. The application was made by Mr. Brian Zergott. This meeting was held <br /> after a Public Hearing on April 14, 2015. Council, per the State of Ohio, has the <br /> opportunity to approve, modify or reject an application such as this. This <br /> program is called The Current Agricultural Use Value Assessment in Ohio and it <br /> is a differential real estate tax assessment program which affords owners of <br /> farmland the opportunity to have their parcels taxed according to their value in <br /> agriculture rather than full market value. It is a result of a referendum that was <br /> passed in Ohio in 1973. The motion to approve this request was made by <br /> Councilman Barker and seconded by Councilwoman Williamson. The vote was <br /> 6-0 to approve this application. The meeting was adjourned at 7:23 p.m. <br /> Councilman Brossard made a motion to approve Mr. Brian Zergott's application for <br /> placement of farmland in an agricultural district for permanent parcel no. 234-14-010 <br /> located at 29895 Lorain Road. Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 929.02, a Public <br /> Hearing was held on April 14, 2015; a notice of the hearing was published on April 2, <br /> 2015 and notice was sent to the applicant via Certified Mail on March 31, 2015. The <br /> motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Roll Call: <br /> Brossard, yes; Barker, yes; Williamson, abstain due to a professional relationship with <br /> Zergott; Limpert, yes; Schumann, yes; Kearney, yes. Application approved 5-0 with 1 <br /> abstention. <br /> The Finance Committee met Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 7:20 p.m. Present were <br /> committee members Kearney, Schumann and Barker; Council President Jones; Council <br /> members Hemann, Limpert and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, <br /> Human Resources Director Farver and Planning/Development Director Wenger. <br /> • Discussed first was Resolution 2015-33 which is a Resolution authorizing the <br /> Mayor to enter into a contract with Mad Bomber Fireworks Productions to <br /> provide a fireworks display for the 2015 North Olmsted Fourth of July <br /> Bicentennial Celebration, and declaring an emergency. Launched from the Moen <br /> complex on July 5, 2015, this display will last 25 to 30 minutes at approximately <br /> $1,000 per minute.
