This contractor has done work with the city before, and
the Administration chose this contractor as the lowest and best bidder. The
committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2015-43.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Don Pangrac, 23470 Sharon Drive spoke regarding the manhole cover on Bentley. He
asked when this will be taken care of Safety/Service Director Glauner said the company
that is currently handling the road reconstruction has the manhole issue on their schedule,
and it will be done this summer.
Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane spoke regarding the Fire Dept. receiving their award
this evening. Two years ago he came before Council to report an incident in a Rocky
River parking lot at Marc's where he witnessed a gentleman in distress who had to wait
twenty minutes for an EMS ambulance. At one time North Olmsted City Council
considered joining the West Shore call-in center. Council opposed that change. This city
has outstanding response time. Council took the initiative at that time and should be
commended, and the leadership of Council President Kennedy at that time should be
commended. There have been lives saved, and the presentation tonight is an
acknowledgement of that.
Mike Kish, 6125 Barton Road spoke in regard to the Dominion gas line replacement on
Barton Road. He sent a letter to the city and the contractor on April 20, 2015 with ten
items to be completed. Five of those items are still not completed, and they are items that
are supposed to be handled by the city. He spoke about the five outstanding items, and
said he has been in contact several times with the Service Dept. and has not heard a
response as to how this work is going to be completed. Mayor Kennedy said he lives on
Barton and has seen the construction; the work that was done on his property was
horribly done by the gas company. He said the city has some work to do, and they will
get it done.
4
