3.02 INSTALLATION AND WORKMANSHIP: <br />A. GENERAL: All work shall be installed and erected in strict accordance with the <br />pre-engineered metal building manufacturer's standard details and approved shop <br />drawings. <br />B. ERECTION: <br />1. Erect all pre-engineered metal buildings in accordance with the <br />requirements of applicable codes, approved shop drawings, manufacturer's <br />specifications and standard specifications listed hereinbefore. <br />2. Hardened washers shall be used on all high strength bolts. <br />3. Orient all high strength bolts in each connection in same direction. <br />4. Bolt tightening of high strength bolts shall be performed using calibrated <br />wrenches. <br />5. Align roof panel ribs on opposite sides of building ridge line. <br />C. SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING: <br />Wall panels and roof panels shall not be installed on the steel frame until <br />the frame is plumb, at proper elevation and the connections completed, <br />tested, and finally reviewed by the Engineer. <br />D. TOUCH-UP PAINTING: <br />1. After testing and inspection, all bolt heads, welds, member marks, <br />abrasions and other areas lacking shop coat of paint shall be neatly touch- <br />up painted with same type and color paint as used for shop coat. Any and <br />all areas where shop paint is peeling or scaling shall be sand blasted, <br />cleaned, and repainted with specified primer in field prior to finish <br />painting. <br />2. Welds shall be cleaned of all slag with a chipping hammer and/or wire <br />brush to a bright condition prior to touch-up painting. All rust shall be <br />removed prior to application of touch-up paint to any area. <br />E. FIELD ADJUSTMENTS: <br />1. Field correcting of fabrication by flame cutting shall not be permitted on <br />any member in the structure without the approval of the Engineer. The <br />use of burned holes for bolted connections will under no circumstances be <br />accepted. Violation of this paragraph will be sufficient cause for rejection <br />of altered members. <br />2. No field adjustments other than normal drifting and reaming shall be made <br />without prior consent and approval of the Engineer. <br />2012.01 <br />
