Council Minutes of 04-05-2016 <br /> Matthews will be a welcome addition to the Commission. A mention was made <br /> that Mr. Matthew's background does in fact comply with the required <br /> qualifications of Commission members set forth in Article VII, Section 2 of the <br /> Code regarding the Planning & Design Commission. Councilwoman Hemann <br /> made a motion to recommend the approval of the appointment of Darrick T. <br /> Matthews to the Planning & Design Commission to fill the vacancy and <br /> unexpired term effective March 22, 2016 through December 31, 2017. The <br /> motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert, and the committee voted 3-0 to <br /> recommend the appointment. The meeting was adjourned at 6:37 p.m. <br /> Councilwoman Hemann made a motion to recommend the approval of the appointment <br /> of Darrick T. Matthews to the Planning & Design Commission to fill the vacancy and <br /> unexpired term effective March 22, 2016 through December 31, 2017. The motion was <br /> seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Appointment approved 7-0. <br /> AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br /> Marco Cuevas, 3534 Beaumont Drive said he is the Public Affairs/Public Information <br /> Officer for the VFW. He stated that the VFW held their annual Texas Hold'Em <br /> Tournament and Reverse Raffle Fundraiser this past Saturday, April 2nd. He thanked the <br /> Mayor and Council members Hemann and Williamson for attending and volunteering <br /> their time. Councilwoman Hemann thanked Cuevas. She stated that in addition to being <br /> a VFW supporter, she is the Legislative Chairperson and a Chaplain to the Local District <br /> 7 VFW Auxiliary of Ohio. She thanked Cuevas again and stated that it is a very <br /> important cause. <br /> LEGISLATION <br /> Ordinance 2015-106 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An <br /> Ordinance amending Article IV, §9 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted entitled, <br /> "Rules and Journal of Council" to eliminate references to "Minority Parties" pursuant to <br /> the nonsubstantive Charter language amendment provisions of Article XVI, §2 of the <br /> Charter of the City of North Olmsted. Councilwoman Hemann moved for adoption. The <br /> motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2015- <br /> 106 adopted 7-0. <br /> Ordinance 2016-15 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An <br /> Ordinance amending various sections of Chapter 911, "Sewers Generally" and Chapter <br /> 917 "Industrial Pretreatment" of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted <br /> titled, "Streets, Utilities and Public Services Code" in order to conform to the <br /> requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency, and declaring an emergency. <br /> Councilman Limpert moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman <br /> Hemann and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2016-15 adopted 7-0. <br /> Resolution 2016-17 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. A <br /> Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the <br /> purchase of bulk treated rock salt for ice and snow removal operations as detailed in <br /> specifications on file and further authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with the <br /> 8 <br />
