Council Minutes of 08-02-2016 <br /> which was promptly thrown out. The case came back to North Olmsted, and <br /> Rocky River Court will handle the case now. <br /> • In the case of Fatmeh Silmi vs. The City of North Olmsted, a slip and fall case <br /> with injuries at the North Olmsted Recreation Center during a construction <br /> project. Discovery is proceeding on that case, and depositions will be going on <br /> throughout the course of July. <br /> • He gave Council an update on property maintenance and zoning cases. He feels <br /> using the Mayors Court has been far more efficient that using Rocky River <br /> Municipal Court to prosecute some of those cases. There were 34 cases where <br /> sentences were imposed, 8 additional cases that are subject to conviction, 3 cases <br /> that are awaiting service and filing and 6 cases referred to prosecution. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report was completed and filed at the end <br /> of June. The Popular Annual Financial Report that gets mailed to every <br /> household is currently being printed. <br /> • The Administration is currently compiling a capital improvement plan for <br /> introduction in October with the intention of borrowing early in January 2017 <br /> because there are several projects that need to get started right away. <br /> • She is also starting work on the 2017 appropriations for the divisions to start <br /> entering non-payroll expenses this week. <br /> Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health& Welfare Committee: <br /> The Public Safety Committee met Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 7:02 p.m. Present were <br /> committee members Barker, Williamson and Brossard; Council President Jones; Council <br /> members Hemann, Kearney and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau and <br /> Safety & Service Director Glauner. <br /> • Discussed first was liquor permit no. 69512950035 Pizza Hut located at 27845 <br /> Lorain Road. The Police Dept. had no objection to this permit. Councilman <br /> Barker made a motion to not object. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman <br /> Williamson, and the committee voted 3-0 to not object to liquor permit <br /> 69512950035 Pizza Hut located at 27845 Lorain Road. <br /> Councilman Barker made a motion to not object to liquor permit no. 69512950035 Pizza <br /> Hut located at 27845 Lorain Road. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman <br /> Williamson and passed unanimously. No objection by a vote of 7-0. <br /> • Discussed next was liquor permit no. 07275200050 BJ's Restaurant and Brew <br /> House located at 25785 Brookpark Road (transfer from Smokey Bones Bar& Fire <br /> Grill). The Police Dept. had no objection to this permit. Councilman Barker <br /> made a motion to not object.
