John Downs, et.al., an appeal has been filed in <br /> the 8th District Court of Appeals. <br /> • With the anniversary of 9/11 approaching, he mentioned that his family had <br /> traveled to Pennsylvania to visit the Flight 93 memorial. He would recommend <br /> that anyone who hasn't been there take the opportunity to visit the burial ground <br /> of the 40 people that died on that flight. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • No report. <br /> Councilwoman Jones, Chairwoman of the Committee of the Whole: <br /> The Committee of the Whole met Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Present were <br /> all members of Council, Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, Planning & <br /> Development Director Wenger and Safety & Service Director Glauner. <br /> • Discussed first was the Zoning Code Project. There is a city open house that will <br /> illustrate this project to the residents which will be held on Thursday, September <br /> 15, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Springvale. <br /> • Discussed next was the Old Town Hall Project and the best use of that facility <br /> over the next few years. The meeting was adjourned at 9:17 p.m. <br /> Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee: <br /> The Public Safety Committee met Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Present were <br /> committee members Barker, Williamson and Brossard; Council members Hemann, <br /> Kearney and Limpert; Mayor Kennedy, Safety & Service Director Glauner, Law Director <br /> Gareau, and Planning & Development Director Wenger. <br /> • Discussed first was new liquor permit no. 73798900010 Riley Hotel Group LLC <br /> DBA Hampton Inn by Hilton located at 24601 Country Club Blvd. There were <br /> no objections from the North Olmsted Police Dept. Councilman Barker made a <br /> motion to not object which was seconded by Councilman Brossard, and the <br /> committee voted 3-0 to not object to this liquor permit. <br /> Councilman Barker made a motion to not object to new liquor permit no. 73798900010 <br /> Riley Hotel Group LLC DBA Hampton Inn by Hilton located at 24601 Country Club <br /> Blvd. The motion was seconded by Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously. No <br /> objection by a vote of 7-0. <br /> • Discussed next was Resolution 2016-81 which is a Resolution to impose a <br /> moratorium on the granting of building permits or certificates of occupancy for <br /> any building, structure, use or change of use that would enable the cultivation, <br /> processing, or retail sale of medical marijuana for a period not to exceed six (6) <br /> months from the effective date of this Resolution, in order to allow the City <br /> Administration, Council and the North Olmsted Planning & Design Commission <br /> to review applicable Ohio statutes, criminal codes and the North Olmsted Zoning <br /> Code relative to such use, and declaring an emergency. With the passage of the <br /> sale of medical marijuana by the State of Ohio that is going into effect this <br /> Thursday, it is the opinion of the Law Director and Planning Director with the <br /> 2 <br />
