CCBH 2016 SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT City of North Olmsted Page 9 <br />PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY EDUCATION PROGRAM (PREP) <br />The goal of the PREP program is to reduce teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted <br />infection rates for youth in Cuyahoga County and four surrounding counties who are <br />currently in foster care or the juvenile justice systems by educating the direct -care <br />staff in those systems to become trainers in evidence -based pregnancy prevention <br />programming. This train -the -trainer model seeks to enhance professional <br />development at the local level for direct care staff while providing sustainability for <br />pregnancy prevention and life skills education for youth in the foster care and juvenile <br />justice systems. <br />Program.lnquiries.and Reapanses.(in hours)*......................33 <br />HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PARTNERSHIP - CUYAHOGA (HIP-CUYAHOGA) <br />More than 100 community partners have come together as the HIP -Cuyahoga <br />Consortium to build opportunities for everyone in Cuyahoga County to have a fair <br />chance to be healthy. The Cuyahoga County Board of Health serves as the <br />backbone organizations for the partnership, providing strategic guidance, managing <br />day-to-day operations, and guiding communications, community engagement and <br />evaluation/measurement activities. HIP -Cuyahoga selected to address four of the <br />most pressing issues impacting the health of our county's residents including: 1) <br />Eliminating Structural Racism; 2) Healthy Eating and Active Living; 3) Linking Clinical <br />Care and Public Health; and 4) Chronic Disease Self -Management. The partnership <br />intends to reassess the community's needs every 3-5 years as needs evolve. <br />Program.lnquiries.and Responses.(in hours)*......................25 <br />UNUSED PRESCIPTION MEDICATION AWARENESS INITIATIVE <br />Rates of unintentional fatal poisoning due to prescription medications have risen over <br />250% since 1999. The unused prescription medication awareness initiative is a <br />collaborative approach to educating the public on the factors contributing to this new <br />epidemic and informing the public on the proper ways to dispose of unused <br />medications. <br />Program.lnquiri.es.and Resspanses.(in hours)*......................32 <br />
