Council Minutes of 12-6-2016 <br />and figures were presented to Council which led to many questions. All present <br />did a great job of presenting their specific budgets. The committee voted 3 to 0 in <br />favor of the ordinance as amended. <br />Councilman Kearney made a motion to amend Ordinance 2016-122 to make it state <br />temporary appropriations. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance 2016-122 amended by a vote of 6-0. <br />Councilwoman Williamson Chairman of the Streets and Transportation Committee: <br />The Streets and Transportation Committee met on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 7:50 <br />p.m. Present were committee members Williamson and Limpert; Council members <br />Barker, Brossard, Kearney and Schumann; Council President Jones; Mayor Kennedy, <br />Planning Director Wenger, Safety & Services Director Glauner, Director of Finance <br />Copfer and guests. <br />• On the agenda was Resolution 2016-131, A Resolution authorizing and directing <br />the Director of Planning and Development to make application on behalf of the <br />City of North Olmsted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds <br />for the fiscal year 2017 for the Burns Road Sidewalk Project; further authorizing <br />the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded and to execute a contract with Cuyahoga <br />County, and declaring an emergency. Director Wenger explained that the county's <br />annual CDBG program has been opened for applications. The City chose to apply <br />for the Burns Road Sidewalk Replacement Project. This location was selected <br />because it meets the criteria and is located within an improvement target area. If <br />awarded, the grant would provide up to $150,000.00 for repairs. Awards should <br />be decided in Spring 2017. A motion was made to recommend approval to <br />Council. The vote was 2 to 0 in favor. <br />Councilman Schumann, Chairman of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee: <br />The Building Zoning and Development Committee met on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 <br />at 7:40 p.m. Present were committee members Schumann, Barker and Williamson; <br />Council members Brossard, Kearney and Limpert; Council President Jones; Mayor <br />Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, Planning & Development Director Wenger and guests. <br />• Discussed was Ordinance 2016-130 an Ordinance amending Section 1363.302 of <br />Chapter 1363 of the Building Code entitled "Property Maintenance" in order to <br />provide additional maintenance requirements for outdoor telephone pay stations. <br />As explained by Mr. Gareau, Ordinance 2016-130 will require commercial <br />property owners to repair or eliminate telephone pay stations of which there are <br />several inoperable around town. A motion was made to recommend approval to <br />Council.
