Council Minutes of 12-20-2016 <br />piece of equipment that will help our firefighters. The sooner they get the <br />equipment the better. The committee voted 3-0 in favor with suspension. <br />Councilman Brossard Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings <br />Committee: <br />The Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee met on Tuesday, December 13, <br />2016 at 7:20 p.m. Present were committee members Brossard and Kearney; Council <br />members Barker, Hemann, Limpert and Williamson; Council President Jones; Mayor <br />Kennedy, Planning Director Wenger, Safety & Services Director Glauner, Director of <br />Finance Copfer and guests. <br />• On the agenda was Resolution 2016-134. A Resolution authorizing the Director of <br />Planning and Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to <br />provide construction services for the Springvale Improvement Project Phase I as <br />detailed in the specifications on file in the Department of Planning and <br />Development, and authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of <br />Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and best bidder. An update was <br />given by Director Wenger and Laura Cowles of JPP Architect and Associates. <br />This will go out to bid in January or February. There have been a few changes <br />since the original Master Plan proposal. Some tidbits include a new maintenance <br />facility, a lower level service kitchen and service elevator, ballroom balcony, a <br />pavilion with a removable canopy with seating up to 400 guests, yet still staying <br />within the original budget amount of $3.25 million. Construction is scheduled to <br />begin in late Spring and with a total completion date of Fall 2019. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Brossard and seconded by Councilman Kearney to <br />recommend approval to Council. The vote was 2-0 in favor. <br />• Discussed next was Resolution 2016-136. A Resolution authorizing the Director <br />of Public Service to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide <br />construction services for the Community Cabin Improvement Project, as detailed <br />in the specifications on file in the Department of Public Service, and authorizing <br />the Mayor, following approval of The Board of Control, to contract for the same <br />with the lowest and best bidder. This is a $300,000 estimate which will include <br />three air conditioning units, a boiler and improvements to the ceiling and floor. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Brossard and seconded by Councilman Kearney <br />to recommend approval to Council. The vote was 2-0 in favor. <br />Councilwoman Williamson Chairman of the Streets and Transportation Committee: <br />The Streets and Transportation Committee met on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 7:39 <br />p.m. Present were committee members Williamson, Hemann and Limpert; Council <br />members Barker, Brossard and Kearney; Council President Jones; Mayor Kennedy, <br />Planning Director Wenger, Safety & Services Director Glauner and guests. <br />• On the agenda was Resolution 2016-135. A Resolution authorizing the Director of <br />Planning and Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to <br />provide construction services for the Country Club Boulevard Streetscape Project <br />Phase II as detailed in the specifications on file in the Engineering Department, <br />and authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to <br />contract for the same with the lowest and best bidder.
