Council Minutes of 2-7-2017 <br />Discussed was the reappointment of Edward Garrity to the Recreation <br />Commission for the term January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2021. The Chair <br />discussed Mr. Garrity's previous service to the Commission of a five year <br />appointment. Mr. Garrity's dedication and commitment to the Commission and all <br />of his volunteer work on behalf of North Olmsted hockey. Councilman Limpert <br />added that he had been involved in the hockey program for about 15 years. <br />Councilman Brossard added that Mr. Garrity has certainly been an integral part of <br />the Recreation Commission and works very hard on its' behalf. Councilwoman <br />Hemann made a motion to recommend appointment of Mr. Garrity for the new <br />term. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilwoman Hemann made a motion to approve Mr. Edward Garrity to the Recreation <br />Commission for the term of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2021. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Mr. Garrity is appointed to <br />the Recreation Commission by a vote of 7-0. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Tim Smith <br />6053 Sherwood Drive <br />Mr. Smith commented to Councilman Barker that during the brief time he served on <br />Council that Councilman Barker was a great leader. He thanked him for helping him get <br />his feet wet and learn some of the processes. He also stated that Councilman Barker will <br />leave some big shoes to fill on Council, but he is glad to hear Mr. Barker is staying in the <br />City and serving the people. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2017-1 was introduced by Mayor Kennedy and was given its third reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the award <br />of a contract to provide cracksealing on various streets at various locations in the City, as <br />detailed in the specifications on file in the Service Department, and authorizing the <br />Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the <br />lowest and best bidder. Councilwoman Williamson moved for adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilwoman Hemann and passed unanimously. Resolution 2017-1 <br />adopted 7-0. <br />Resolution 2017-2 was introduced by Mayor Kennedy and was given its third reading.
