23 Definitions 1115.05 <br />1115.04 AUTOMOTIVE TERMS. <br />As used in this Zoning Code: <br />(a) "Automotive salvage yard" means an establishment or place of business which is <br />maintained, used or operated for storing, keeping, buying or selling wrecked, <br />scrapped, ruined or dismantled motor vehicles or motor vehicle parts. <br />(b) "Auto wash" means a building and land used for cleaning of passenger vehicles <br />and which may include the retail sale of gasoline. <br />(c) "Landbank parking" means an area of land which is designated by a landowner <br />as part of a plan for parking and/or loading facilities in order to meet the <br />minimum requirements of this Code, but which the City has instead permitted or <br />required to be developed and maintained as part of the owner's landscape plan, <br />and which shall continue to be so maintained until, or unless, the City <br />subsequently permits or requires such area to be used for parking and/or loading <br />facilities. <br />(d) "Private garage" means an enclosed building with doors, accessory to a <br />one -family, two-family or multi -family dwelling, used exclusively for the parking <br />or temporary storage of passenger vehicles. <br />(e) "Public parking area" means an open or enclosed publicly -owned area used for <br />passenger automobile parking. <br />(f) "Repair garage" means a main building designed and used for repairing motor <br />vehicles. "Repair garage" means a service garage, if accessory to an automobile <br />salesroom. <br />(g) "Sales lot" means an open area used for the display, sale or rental of new or used <br />motor vehicles, on which no repair work is performed. <br />(h) "Service station" means a building and land, including pumps, tanks and grease <br />racks, used for the retail sale of gasoline, lubricants, batteries, tires, packaged <br />food and nonalcoholic beverages, other automobile accessories, and for <br />performing minor services and repairs. <br />(i) "Storage garage" means a main enclosed building with doors, other than a private <br />garage, used for the parking or temporary storage of passenger vehicles, and in <br />which no service shall be provided. <br />(Ord. 90-125. Passed 5-21-91.) <br />1115.05 BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES. <br />As used in this Zoning Code: <br />(a) "Basement" means the space of a building where the floor level is more than four <br />feet below the adjoining finished grade and having less than one-half of its clear <br />height above grade level. <br />(b) "Breezeway" means a covered passage, open on two sides or enclosed by glass <br />or screening, connecting two buildings. <br />(c) "Build" includes establish, construct, erect, assemble, arrange, reconstruct, <br />enlarge and alter. <br />(d) "Building" means a structure which is permanently affixed to the land, having one <br />or more floors and a roof, being bounded by either open space or lot lines, and <br />used as a shelter or enclosure for humans or animals or an enclosure for personal <br />property or goods. "Building" maybe used synonymously with "structure," and <br />unless otherwise noted, shall be construed as if followed by the words "part or <br />parts thereof.
