Council Minutes of 9-5-2017 <br />Councilwoman Hemann made a comment with her no vote. I concur with Councilman <br />Limpert and did express my concerns. I think these are very necessary regulations and <br />believe it is our responsibility to do a little better job of discussion and revisiting when <br />objections are raised. I think the City as a whole could have done a better job. <br />Resolution 2017-56 was introduced by Councilmembers Schumann and Rahm and was <br />given its second reading. A Resolution designating the lobby of The City of North <br />Olmsted Police Station as an Internet Purchase Safe Zone, and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution 2017-57 was introduced by Mayor Kennedy and was given its second reading. <br />A Resolution approving the award of a job creation grant to CommutAir and further <br />authorizing the Mayor to enter into a grant agreement; and declaring an emergency. <br />Councilman Kearney moved to suspend the rules requiring three readings as this was <br />heard in committee and is time sensitive. He said they have <br />been slowly growing their employment bases here in the City as they have been <br />transitioning out of their upstate New York and Vermont roots. They would like to make <br />it an official headquarters move and bring their headquarters to North Olmsted. <br />CommutAir has a new contract with United Airlines and will be expanding the number of <br />flights they are offering. He stated they will be bringing in new aircraft, growing and <br />adding jobs. <br />Seeing no other comments, Councilman Kearney moved for adoption 2017-57. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. Resolution <br />2017-57 adopted 7-0. <br />Ordinance 2017-58 was introduced by Mayor Kennedy and was given its second reading. <br />An Ordinance to allow the upgrade of traffic signals and signal systems along Brookpark <br />Road (SR -17), Great Northern Boulevard (SR -252), Columbia Road, Cedar Point Road, <br />Country Club Boulevard and Butternut Ridge Road in the City of North Olmsted, and <br />declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Williamson moved to suspend the rules <br />requiring three readings as this was heard in committee and is time sensitive.
