Council Minutes of 11-8-2017 <br />cause of cancer related deaths in the U.S. and is projected to become the second leading <br />cause by 2020. Ms. Mekeel said the five year survival rate is only nine percent. She said <br />we need the City's help in shining a light on the disease and make progress on early <br />detection and treatment tools. She said by issuing a resolution tonight supporting <br />Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month in North Olmsted the City is helping us raise <br />awareness. She thanked North Olmsted City Council for standing up and supporting <br />Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, <br />Mary Hill <br />5471 MacKenzie Road <br />Ms. Hill wanted to compliment the planting of trees by the mall as it makes the City more <br />livable. She said there have been several trees cut down on the tree lawn on MacKenzie <br />which have never been replaced and she would like them replaced. <br />The Mayor said he will also call her about this issue. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2017-66 was introduced by Mayor Kennedy and was given its third reading. <br />A Resolution approving of and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a collective <br />bargaining agreement with the International Association of Firefighters, Local 1267, <br />AFL-CIO for the City's Firefighters, for the period January 1, 2018 through December <br />31, 2020. Councilman Kearney moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. Resolution 2017-66 adopted 5-0. <br />Resolution 2017-67 was introduced by Mayor Kennedy and was given its third reading. <br />A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to solicit bids for the rental of golf carts and other <br />vehicles for Springvale, and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for said <br />vehicle rentals, subject to approval by the Board of Control, and declaring an emergency. <br />Councilman Kearney moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Schumann and passed unanimously. Resolution 2017-67 adopted 5-0. <br />Ordinance 2017-68 was introduced by Mayor Kennedy and Councilman Rahm and was <br />given its third reading. An Ordinance establishing a Sidewalk Maintenance Fund, after <br />approval from the Auditor of State, as a non -major special revenue fund to account for <br />the receipt of funds collected for sidewalk panel replacement and related expenditures. <br />Councilwoman Williamson moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilwoman Hemann and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2017-68 adopted 5-0. <br />Resolution 2017-72 was introduced by Mayor Kennedy and was given its third reading. <br />A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a one year contract with TAC Computer <br />Inc., in order to provide maintenance and repair services to computer hardware and <br />software in the North Olmsted Fire Department. Councilman Kearney moved for <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. <br />Resolution 2017-72 adopted 5-0. <br />5 <br />
