Council Minutes of 1-2-2018 <br />• Discussed was Ordinance 2017-91. An Ordinance to make appropriations for <br />Capital Improvements for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending <br />December 31, 2018. The Capital Improvements include the Fire Station #2 <br />kitchen, City Hall pole barn, $194,500 for the Sidewalk Replacement Program. <br />$1,723,779 for asphalt and overlay for road construction. This will be a one year <br />bond anticipation loan. Other improvements include land improvements at <br />Springvale and building improvements at the Sewer Treatment Plant. The <br />committee voted 3-0 to recommend to Council, as amended. <br />Councilman Schumann made a motion to amend Ordinance 2017-91. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2017-91 <br />amended by a vote of 7-0. <br />• Discussed next was Ordinance 2017-93. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to <br />enter into a contract with Mad Bomber Fireworks Productions to provide a <br />fireworks display for the 2018 North Olmsted Fourth of July Celebration. This is <br />the fourth year of the fireworks. The costs are just north of $25,000. Mad Bomber <br />has been the provider the three previous years and the Mayor promised to put in <br />effort to raise donations as he has in the past. The committee voted 3-0 to <br />recommend to Council. <br />Councilwoman Hemann asked for a moment of personal privilege. I had the pleasure <br />today of touring with Councilman Limpert all of our public buildings. I have to commend <br />everybody at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. It is still my favorite building, it is still <br />my favorite project. To Service Director Glauner, thank you so much for making sure that <br />project came out well. It's a great facility.
