Council Minutes of 1-16-2018
• I have asked to put the borrowing for the streets and phone project on the agenda
for first reading at the upcoming Special Council Meeting. It requires three
readings and 30 days after passage before we can borrow the funds. We want to
get moving on it so we can get started on the projects.
• The IRS released the 2018 Tax Withholding Tables. They have to be entered by
the first pay of February, but I expect to be ready to go by the next pay. Residents
may see a reduction on their utilities as PUCO has requested the savings the
utilities get from lower taxes also be passed on to the customers, since when there
is a tax increase it gets passed on to the customers. The companies have until
February 15 to file comments. I do not think it will be as easy as it sounds, but I
will keep my fingers crossed.
Council President Jones, Committee of the Whole:
The Committee of the Whole met Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 7:25 p.m. Present were
Council members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney, Schumann and Williamson;
Council President Jones; Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Safety
& Service Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and guests.
• The purpose of the meeting was Council appointments to various Boards and
Commissions.
