Council Minutes of 4-17-2018 <br />would also like to create new safety infrastructure at some of the older school <br />buildings. Councilman Brossard made a motion to recommend to Council. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and it passed 2-0. <br />• Discussed next was Ordinance 2018-41. An Ordinance accepting a traffic control <br />equipment easement located on property owned by Zapata Real Estate, LLC., an <br />Ohio Corporation, designated as permanent parcel number 231-26-003 by <br />Cuyahoga County Maps and Records, and declaring an emergency. Director <br />Lieber explained this is an easement needed to continue with this location for the <br />City's re- signal ization project. Councilman Brossard made a motion to <br />recommend to Council. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and it <br />passed 2-0. <br />Councilman Schumann Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 7:25 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Schumann, Brossard and Kearney; Council members Glassburn, <br />Hemann, and Limpert; Mayor Kennedy, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of <br />Safety & Service Glauner and guests. <br />• Discussed was Ordinance 2018-38. An Ordinance amending Section 161.01 of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted entitled "Employees <br />Generally" for the purpose of amending the Family Leave Policy of the City of <br />North Olmsted to make it consistent with the Family and Medical Leave Act, as <br />amended. The change was to strike parts of the Ordinance and to place wording <br />that the Parental Leave Act should be governed by the Family Medical Leave Act. <br />Further Director Gallo suggested the Ordinance be amended under Funeral Leave <br />to include brother/sister of spouse, grandparents, grandchildren, spouse of <br />grandchildren, step parents of spouse and step children. Some of our contracts <br />already include these. The Committee voted 3-0 to recommend to Council as <br />amended. <br />Councilman Schumann moved to amend Ordinance 2018-38. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2018-38 amended 6-0. <br />Councilman Kearney Vice Chairman of the Streets & Transportation Committee: <br />The Streets & Transportation Committee met on Tuesday, April, 2018 at 7:35 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Limpert, Kearney and Glassburn; Council members <br />Brossard, Hemann and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Director of Human Resources Gallo, <br />Director of Safety & Service Glauner and guests. <br />• Discussed first was Resolution 2018-40. A Resolution authorizing the Director of <br />Public Service to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide asphalt <br />resurfacing and related repairs upon MacKenzie Road, as detailed in the <br />specifications on file with the Engineer, and authorizing the Mayor, following <br />approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and best <br />bidder. The budgeted amount for the program is close to $750,000. The County <br />will give the City $250,000 towards the project. The Committee voted 3-0 to <br />recommend to Council. <br />3 <br />
