Council Minutes of 4-17-2018
Councilwoman Hemann Chairwoman of the Environmental Control Committee:
The Environmental Control Committee met on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 7:45 p.m.
Present were committee members Hemann and Glassburn; Council members Brossard,
Kearney, Limpert and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Director of Human Resources Gallo,
Director of Safety & Service Glauner and guests.
• Discussed was Ordinance 2018-39. An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to
contract with MTech Company to purchase at State Purchase Price, a Cues
Steerable Pipe Ranger at a cost of $92,390.90, compatible with Cues Camera
Truck, for use in Sewer Inspections and at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Director Glauner explained the City's current equipment is made by Cues and
MTech is the only company supplying Cues equipment that is compatible with the
City's current equipment. Even though there is only one supplier with the State
Purchase Price Discount, the price is reduced to the stated price. The purchase
will expand the capabilities of the current equipment. The City's equipment can
currently view sewer lines that are six to eight inches in diameter, while the new
equipment will expand the capability to view 36 to 48 inch sewer lines. The
expanded diameter viewing and GPS locator will enhance the ability to identify
maintenance needs before a breakdown occurs. By being proactive about
maintenance, the City will enjoy cost savings benefits. Councilwoman Hemann
moved to recommend to Council. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Glassburn and passed 2-0.
COMMUNICATIONS TO COUNCIL
Ryan Shannon
25151 Brookpark Road, Apartment 410
Mr. Shannon wrote a letter to Council regarding the Recreation Center plans if the ballot
measure passes. Mr. Shannon said he is for the renovation of the Recreation Center, but is
concerned on what it would do to the skate park. He asked if the Recreation Center
upgrades destroy the current skate park that the City build a new one.
Larry Chabowski
6118 Sandpiper Lane
Mr. Chabowski called to request Council do two things. He wants Council to televise the
Council Meetings and the second thing is he wants to remove the five minute speaking
limitation on each person addressing Council. He believes there should be no time
restriction on how long someone can address Council.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
No comments.
LEGISLATION
Resolution 2018-35 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading.
