ARTICLE 6 OVERTIME/EXTRA DUTY/CALL OUT/COMPENSATORY BANK <br />6.01 Employees shall be paid one and one-hall'(1'/z) times their regular rate of pay for all <br />hours required to be worked in excess ol'the work day or week as defined in Section 5.01 or may <br />choose to bank and/or convert those hours at their overtime rate up to a maximum of one <br />hundred twenty (120) hours per each year of this agreement. <br />6.02 Each employee shall have the right to convert overtime hours into compensatory time <br />with the approval of the Pol ice Chief or his designee on a dollar -for -dollar basis. Employees <br />shall be paid for all compensatory time accumulated in excess of four hundred eighty hours (480) <br />on the next scheduled pay. <br />Employees may have the right to take compensatory time when the time off does not <br />interfere with the operation of the Police Department. The taking olTof such compensatory time <br />shall be subject to the approval of the Police Chief or his designee. Overtime shall be converted <br />to compensatory time at the current rate of pay plus longevity on a dollar for dollar basis. <br />An Employee or his estate shall be paid for unused, accumulated compensatory time at <br />the time of disability, retirement or death at a Basic Hourly Rate of Pay for his workweek plus <br />longevity if applicable. <br />Compensatory time shall be taken in a one (1) hour minimum block and thereafter % hour <br />increments, except at the start or end of a shift. Half ('/z) hour increments may be used at the start <br />or end of shift. <br />6.03 Any employee who qualifies for overtime by virtue of the provisions of Section 1 hereof' <br />shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours when required to report for extra duty over and above <br />his regular work day and work week. Such an employee shall also be paid a minimum of two (2) <br />hours for appearance at the Rocky River Municipal Court. A minimum of four (4) hours for <br />appearance at the Grand Jury, Common Pleas Court or Juvenile Court when the same are <br />required, and are also at a time other than the employee's regular work tour. The compensation <br />for the aforesaid hours will be at time and one-half (l 1/2). <br />6.04 On January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15 of each year, each employee shall be <br />paid for all overtime hours accumulated in excess of one hundred twenty (120) hours for the <br />three (3) calendar month period immediately prior to the above dates of .lanuary 15, April 15, <br />July 15, and October 15. Any payment as set forth above shall be paid at the rate of pay <br />applicable to each employee according to his classification, and payments shall include longevity <br />earned. <br />6.05 Any employee being changed in rank shall be paid immediately for all <br />overtime/compensatory time he has accumulated to be paid at a rate when overtime was earned, <br />and he shall commence the tenure of his new rank with no overtime hours. Such pay shall be <br />based on the employee's classification prior to his promotion. <br />
