Council Minutes of 9-18-2018 her career. The City is excited to have someone with her expertise joining the Commission. She is a new North Olmsted resident and wanted to get involved. The committee recommended appointment to the Arts Commission by a vote of 3-0. Councilman Glassburn made a motion to approve the appointment of Jennifer Scofield to the North Olmsted Arts Commission to fill the term ending December 31, 2021. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Hemann and passed unanimously. Jennifer Scofield appointed to the Arts Commission to fill the term ending December 31, 2021 by a vote of 6-0. Councilman Glassburn wished those who celebrate the Jewish faith a happy Rosh Hashanah for last week and tonight Yom Tov for Yom Kippur. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION Sam Kaufman 4500 Porter Road Mr. Kaufman said this is his second or third time here regarding his property. He shared photos with Council. He said the issue is again a driver that ended up in his front yard. He said it is the second or third time this year. Mr. Kaufman said he just happened to be there at the time and took pictures. He said as a father of a four year old and a 1.5 year old his concern is his children and the others in the neighborhood with this road and cars losing control on it and ending up on the resident's properties. He said he doesn't want to put a boulder there, but if he has to, that is what he will do. Mr. Kaufman said he knows signs were put up, but they were immediately removed because of appearance. He said he is open to anything, but his preference is to put up a guard rail. He is aware there would be cost, but he would rather spend a couple grand on a rail than be attending funerals. Mayor Kennedy said he remembered Mr. Kaufman being here before and he would revisit it. Council President Jones asked if Council could keep the photos. Councilman Schumann asked how he was able to get these photos. Mr. Kaufman replied it was just by chance he was walking out to his car when it happened. Mr. Schumann thanked Mr. Kaufman for bringing this to Council's attention. Councilman Limpert said he wanted to note he has received similar complaints from other residents about this curve on other parts of this street. LEGISLATION Ordinance 2018-78 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2018, and declaring an emergency.
