Council Minutes of 9-18-2018 <br />her career. The City is excited to have someone with her expertise joining the <br />Commission. She is a new North Olmsted resident and wanted to get involved. <br />The committee recommended appointment to the Arts Commission by a vote of <br />3-0. <br />Councilman Glassburn made a motion to approve the appointment of Jennifer Scofield to <br />the North Olmsted Arts Commission to fill the term ending December 31, 2021. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilwoman Hemann and passed unanimously. Jennifer <br />Scofield appointed to the Arts Commission to fill the term ending December 31, 2021 by <br />a vote of 6-0. <br />Councilman Glassburn wished those who celebrate the Jewish faith a happy Rosh <br />Hashanah for last week and tonight Yom Tov for Yom Kippur. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Sam Kaufman <br />4500 Porter Road <br />Mr. Kaufman said this is his second or third time here regarding his property. He shared <br />photos with Council. He said the issue is again a driver that ended up in his front yard. He <br />said it is the second or third time this year. Mr. Kaufman said he just happened to be there <br />at the time and took pictures. He said as a father of a four year old and a 1.5 year old his <br />concern is his children and the others in the neighborhood with this road and cars losing <br />control on it and ending up on the resident's properties. He said he doesn't want to put a <br />boulder there, but if he has to, that is what he will do. Mr. Kaufman said he knows signs <br />were put up, but they were immediately removed because of appearance. He said he is <br />open to anything, but his preference is to put up a guard rail. He is aware there would be <br />cost, but he would rather spend a couple grand on a rail than be attending funerals. <br />Mayor Kennedy said he remembered Mr. Kaufman being here before and he would <br />revisit it. <br />Council President Jones asked if Council could keep the photos. <br />Councilman Schumann asked how he was able to get these photos. Mr. Kaufman replied <br />it was just by chance he was walking out to his car when it happened. Mr. Schumann <br />thanked Mr. Kaufman for bringing this to Council's attention. <br />Councilman Limpert said he wanted to note he has received similar complaints from <br />other residents about this curve on other parts of this street. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance 2018-78 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2018, and <br />declaring an emergency.
