? <br />0 <br />1305. 04 BUILDING CODE 12 ? <br />Sec. R-115-Plumbinit (Added). The Ohio Plumbing Code as published in Chapters <br />4101:2-17 and 4101:2-51 of the Ohio Administrative Code and the provisions of <br />Article 17 of the BOCA Basic Building Code, 1978 Edition, shall apply to plumbing, <br />sewer burilding and wa,ter service installed in one, tm and three-family dwellings, <br />notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary as conta.ined in the One and Two <br />Family Dwelling Code adopted herein. <br />Sec. R-210-Private Garages (Amended). Openings from a private garage directly <br />into a room used for sleeping purposes shall not be permitted. Other openings <br />between the garage and residence shall be equipped with solid wood doors not less <br />than one and three-quarter (1-3/4) inches in thickness or equivalent having a fire <br />resistance rating of not less than three quarter (3/4) hour. <br />The garage shall be completely separated fxom the residence and its attic area <br />by means of one-half (1/2) inch gypsum board or equivalent applied to the garage <br />side. <br />Garage and carport floor surfaces shall be of approved noncumbustible material. <br />Sec. R-211-Exits (Amended). The first sentence of Section ft-211 is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br />Not less than two exits conforming to this chapter shall be provided from each dwelling <br />unit. ? <br />Sec. R-216-Smoke Alarm (Amended). Each dwelling shall have a fire alarm system <br />as provided in Section 1701.13 of Part Seventeen -Fire Prevention Code. <br />Sec. R-306-Dampproo$ng (Amended). The $rst paragraph of Section R-306 is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Exterior foundation walls of masonry construction enclosing basements shall <br />be dampproofed by applyingnot less than 3/8 inch portland cement parging to the <br />wall from footing to finish grade. The parging shall be covered with a coat of <br />approved bituminous material applied at the recommended rate. Exterior foundation <br />walls of concrete construction enclosing basements shall be dampproofed by applying <br />a coat of approved bituminous material to the wall from the footing to six inches <br />above the finished grade at the recommended rate. <br />Sec. R-3 0 8- Protection Against Decay and Termites(Amended <br />The following sentence is added to Section R-308: The top row of concrete block <br />on the foundation must be solid type block to prevent termites from infesting the <br />building. <br />Sec. R-603. 2-Site Preparation (Amended). Section R-603.2 is hereby amended by <br />deleting the exception thereto. <br />5ec. R- 803 -Composition Asphalt Organic Felt Shingles (Amended), The sixth <br />paragraph of Section R-803 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />R,oof valley flashing shall be provided of not less than No. 28 galvanized sheet <br />gauge corrosion-resistant metal or aluminum standard gauge equivalent meetiug <br />the standards set forth in Section 5-26, 801 and shall extend at least eight (8) inches <br />1982 Replacement
