<br />1317.03 BUILDING CODE 16L <br />1317.03 PUBLIC UTILITY ORGANIZATIONS' EXCEPTION. <br />No provision of this Building Code shall be interpreted to require licenses, registration <br />or certificates of qualification for officials or employees of public utility organizations to <br />engage in the installation, alteration, repair, maintenance or utilization of any device, <br />appliance, installation or appurtneance forming paxt of the equipment for generation <br />transmission or distribution of any commodity or service which such public utility orga.niza- <br />tion is authorized by law to furnish or provide. <br />1317.04 APPLICATIONS AND EXAMINATION. <br />(a) Form. :All applications for certificates of registration, licenses and certificates <br />of qualification shall be in the form prescribed by the Board of Building Code Appeals. <br />(b) Sworn Application. Applications for certificates of registration and for licenses, <br />and for those certificates of quali$cation for which a renewal fee is prescribed, shall be <br />sworn to by the applicant before a notary public. <br />(c) Time of Exa.mination. Exa.minations shall be held at the discretion of the Board <br />of Examiners. Notice of the time and place of such examinat3ons shall be sent by mail <br />to all applicants on record when such exa.minations are scheduled. <br />\. <br />(d) Written or Oral Examination. Examinations shall be in whole or in part in <br />writing; provided that whan an applicant for a certificate of registration, license or certificate of qualification holds a valid license or certification of corresponding character ?. <br />issued by a sta.te, county, another municipality or an accredited examining board, and <br />has been actively engaged in the work authorized by such license or certification for a period <br />of five or more years, the examination may be limited, at the discretion of the Board of <br />Building Code Appeals, to an oral examinati.on. However, should such applicant fail to prove <br />his qualifications under oral examination, he shall be entitled to take the regular written <br />exa,minations without payment of an additional fee. <br />(e) Records. All applications for registration, licenses and certificates of quaiification <br />and all question papers, answer papers and other data forming the basis af a certification <br />for registration, license or qualification, or the refusal thereof, shall be kept on file for <br />not less than three years. <br />1317.05 BOARD OF EXAMINERS. <br />The Board of Building Code Appeals shall act as the Board of Examiners in any or all <br />registrations, licensing or certification of qualificat,ion. <br />1317.06 GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS. <br />No applicant shall;be registered, licensed or issued a certificate of qualification under <br />the provisions of this chapter unless such applicant is: <br />(a) Not less than eighteen years of age, <br />(b) Able to read and write the English language, and <br />\ <br />1982 Replacement
