16M _ ReQistration and Licensing of Contractors 1317.08 <br />(c) Of good moral chaxacter. In considering the moral character of an applicant, the <br />Board of Examiners may determine that an applicant with a record of repeated <br />violations of the Building Code, of other laws or ordinances regulating building <br />construction in the City or of dishonest practices or malpractice in the conduct <br />of a business, trade or profession, is of poor moral character, and that it is <br />in the public interest that such applicant sha11 not be registered, licensed or hold <br />a certificate of qualification. <br />1317.07 REVOCATION AND SUSPENSION OF REGISTRATION, LICENSES AND <br />C ERTIFIC ATES. <br />A certificate of registration, license or cert3ficate of qualification may be revoked or <br />may be suspended by the Board of Building Code Appeals upon recommendation of the <br />Building Commissioner for a prescribed period not exceeding six months, whenever <br />they have determined that the holder thereof: <br />(a) Has not performed the duties required of him by this Building Code or by the <br />rules or regulations of the Building Commissioner or the Board of Building <br />Code Appeals; <br />(b) Has been lax, incompetent, negligent or derelict in the prescribed performance <br />or in the performance of work or furnishing of services authorized by such <br />certificate; or <br />(c) Whenever the holder thereof has violated or participated in the violation of any <br />provision of this Building Code. <br />Provided however, that on request of the holder of a certificate or license, a public <br />heaxing.shall be held by the Board before such certificate or license is revoked. The <br />holder of a suspended certificate or license shall not do any work authorized by such <br />certificate or license, except work necessary to correct a violation of the Building Code <br />specified in the notice of suspension, until notice of reinsta.tement has been given by the <br />Board or the period of suspension has expired. <br />1317.08 FEES. <br />(a) Fees for certificates of registration, licenses and certificates of qualification <br />and renewals thereof shall be established by Council and shall be paid at the office of the <br />Building Commissioner. <br />(b) Fees sha11 be payable upon acceptance of the application for a license or certificate. <br />An application shall not be deemed accepted until the authority having jurisdiction has <br />examined such application and determined therefrom that the applica.nt is qualified under <br />Section 1307.06 and possesses the experience, training and education requisite for the <br />license or certificate in question. <br />1982 Replacement
