Prescription drugs and controlled substances; <br />12. Weapons and ammunition; and <br />13. Hazardous materials and chemicals. <br />F. SUPPORT AND DOCUMENTATION <br />1. When making purchases in person, the purchaser must sign the charge receipt and <br />retain the customer copy. The itemized original receipts must be obtained and <br />turned in to support any purchases. The purchaser should verify that either the <br />charge receipt or sales receipt complies with the requirements for supporting <br />documentation. <br />2. If the purchase is being made online, the purchaser should print out or obtain an <br />order confirmation and the detailed receipt. Supporting documentation for the <br />online purchases needs to be obtained for proper verification of the purchase. If <br />appropriate detailed receipts are not provided, the employee may be required to <br />reimburse the City. <br />G. TAX EXEMPTION <br />1. The City is exempt from Ohio states sales tax. It is the purchaser's responsibility to <br />ensure that this tax is not charged. The City's tax identification number (34- <br />6002048) is printed on tax exemption certificates available in the Finance <br />Department, which can be given to any vendor. <br />2. Sometimes tax is charged and cannot be averted (examples includes restaurants and <br />other small purchases). While hotels are obligated to charge certain taxes, often a <br />portion of these taxes can be reduced if a tax exemption certificate is shown either <br />when reserving the room or upon check out. <br />H. CREDIT CARD PAYMENT AND RECONCILIATION <br />At the end of each credit card cycle, a monthly reconciliation report will be sent to each <br />division or department with a list of their charges for that time period.
