Council Minutes of 8-20-2019
behalf of the City of North Olmsted for an Ohio History Fund grant through the Ohio
History Connection to produce a local history public event; further authorizing the use of
City funds for local match; further authorizing the Mayor to accept funds, if awarded, and
to execute contracts as required; and declaring an emergency. Councilman Schumann
made a motion to suspend the rule requiring three readings as this was heard in
committee and is time sensitive. The motion was seconded by Councilman Brossard and
passed unanimously.
Roll Call:
Yes: Schumann, Brossard, Kearney, Limpert, Hemann, Glassburn
No: None
Motion carried.
Councilman Limpert voted yes with comment. I just want to reiterate what Mr.
Schumann said around this event. I was heavily involved with bicentennial planning and
this was one of those activities where numerous residents came up after that just
expressing things they did not know about the City before and no matter how trivial you
think sometimes history is you will always have some pride in realizing what has
happened in our City in the past and being more knowledgeable about it. I think this is a
great opportunity to educate those who haven't lived in the City as long as well as remind
those who have been here for a very long time some of the interesting facts about our
City's history and I approve getting this grant and hopefully we get it and can have this
event again. Thank you.
Councilman Schumann moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Brossard and passed unanimously.
Roll Call:
Yes: Schumann, Brossard, Glassburn, Kearney, Hemann, Limpert
No: None
Motion carried. Resolution 2019-70 adopted 6-0.
Resolution 2019-71 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A
Resolution authorizing the Director of Human Resources to solicit proposals for excess
insurance coverage for the City's Health Care & Hospitalization Plans for 2020; and
further authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a
contract for services.
Ordinance 2019-72 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An
Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2014-4 to further amend fee ranges, to reorganize
the format of the fee structures and to restate the program fees for use of park and
recreation facilities.
Resolution 2019-73 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to renew the contract between the City and Karrie
Skall Tipton / North Olmsted Gymnastics, Inc. for the provision of professional
gymnastics instruction services at the North Olmsted Recreation Center for an additional
term of one (1) year.
E
