Council Minutes of 8-6-2019
• Discussed first was CMS 19-13751 Chick-fil-A located at 4779 Great Northern
Boulevard. This proposal consists of reconfiguring the parking lot for a double
drive through. Property is zoned B-3 General Business. The row of parking along
the south side of the restaurant will be removed to accommodate the drive
through. Canopies will be installed over the order station and at the pick-up
window. The canopy lighting is code compliant. The applicant has negotiated a
shared parking agreement with North Olmsted Town Center for 20 parking spaces
to keep Chick-fil-A above the previous minimum approved parking level. The
Law Department has reviewed the agreement and has found it to be in acceptable
form. The committee recommended to approve 3-0.
Councilwoman Williamson moved to approve CMS 19-13751 Chick-fil-A located at
4779 Great Northern Boulevard. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann
and passed unanimously.
Roll Call:
Yes: Williamson, Schumann, Kearney, Glassburn, Hemann, Brossard, Limpert
No: None
Motion carried. CMS 19-13751 Chick-fil-A approved 7-0.
• Discussed next was CMS 19-14438 Albert Einstein Academy located at 26855
Lorain Road. This proposal consists of a conditional use permit for a school.
Property is zoned B-3 General Business. Previously the property was used by the
North Olmsted City School District to house their middle school while the new
campus was under construction. However, the conditional use permit expired on
April 30, 2019. Albert Einstein Academies will take over the school facilities at
St. Richard. They are proposing no exterior changes to the building or property,
and all vehicle and bus traffic will be maintained on site. All of the required
specific conditional use standards for K-12 facilities have been met. The
committee recommended to approve 3-0.
Councilwoman Williamson moved to approve CMS 19-14438 Albert Einstein Academy
located at 26855 Lorain Road. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and
passed 6-1.
Roll Call:
Yes: Williamson, Schumann, Brossard, Limpert, Hemann, Kearney
No: Glassburn
Motion carried. CMS 19-14438 Albert Einstein Academy approved 6-l.
Councilman Glassburn asked for a moment of personal privilege. I would like to briefly
take the opportunity to thank Mr. Limpert, Councilwoman Hemann and our Council
Clerk Chuck Massarolo for your assistance while I was gone during our break. My wife
received a grant to do a cultural exchange study in Senegal Africa and Morocco and each
of you were very helpful in assisting my residents while I was gone. Thank you.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
3
