Council Culunites of 10-1 �-2019 <br />traffic that vvould be on it. Mr. Sturgeon said its better at the other end by ClagLie and <br />Lorain. He said he would love to see something to improve traffic in that area. <br />Councilman L.impert said when the lights are setup there is a study done and the area is <br />monitored for several months afterwards to optimize the lights. Additionally, the City has <br />a Control Center which allows changes to he made. especially if ail accident or something <br />unexpected happened. <br />Mr. Sturgeon asked if the CD13G grant for the vvalking path is the same grant the City <br />tried to get in two to three years ago. <br />Councilman Kearney said the path is a third to halfway done and this is a grant the City is <br />trying to get to complete it. <br />Councilman Schumann said the grant Mr. Sturgeon is referring to is different. The CDBG <br />funds have just been opened Lip for Recreation areas to go after grants. In the past, money <br />could be only used in certain areas that qualified. A fcvv years ago, the City got this grant <br />for sidewalks on Burns because that area qualified for it. <br />Mr. Sturgeon said perhaps the City should consider trying to fret a grant to put a <br />bathroom at Little Clatrue Park. <br />Councilman Schumann said the City has tried to apply for a grant for a bathroom there in <br />the past. <br />"Tim Mekeel <br />6109 Sherwood Drive <br />Mr. Mekeel said the Recreation L)epartment is a fantastic asset, but there is one issue lie <br />has run into. He said registration for programs is opened up for residents and <br />nonresidents at the exact same time. I -le said as a resident sometimes his family is locked <br />out Ofa, program as nonresidents beat them to registering. Mr. Mekeel suggested the City <br />consider allowing a day or tvvo for residents to register before registration is opened to <br />everyone. Mr. Mekeel said he knows some other cities allow residents to register first. <br />Councilman Kearney said he vv -ill talk to the Recreation Director to see if that is doable. <br />lie said lie wasn't Sure vv by this wasn't thought of belorc. but it is a good idea. <br />L.EGISLATIOI <br />Resolution 2019-84 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the avvard <br />of a contract to purchase concrete materials and related supplies for the year 202-0. as <br />detailed in the specifications on file with the Engineer. and authorizing the Mayor, <br />following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and <br />best bidder. Councilman Limpert moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. <br />I1 <br />
