Council Minutes of 1-21-2020 <br />Councilman Kelly Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee: <br />The Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee met on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 <br />at 7:33 p.m. Present were committee members Kelly, Hemann and Brossard; Council <br />members Glassburn, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson; Council President Jones; <br />Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, <br />Director of Planning & Community Development Lieber, Recreation Commissioner <br />Drenski, Assistant Commissioner Wetmore and guests. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2020-1. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter <br />into separate contracts, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with Carlie Jones, <br />Emily Susman and Jen Dahler, for fitness instructor services at the North Olmsted <br />Recreation Center for a term of one (1) year. These three individuals provide very <br />popular independent fitness classes. After discussion, the committee voted 3-0 to <br />recommend to Council. <br />• It was also brought to Council's attention in Caucus this evening the <br />Administration is requesting an emergency clause be added to Resolution 2019- <br />115 in order to get the dredging of the Springvale Pond done in February when <br />the weather is favorable. Nothing is changing in the text other than an emergency <br />clause is being added. <br />Councilman Kelly moved to amend Resolution 2019-115 to add an emergency clause. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously. <br />Roll Call: <br />Yes: Kelly, Brossard, Hemann, Schumann, Williamson, Limpert, Glassburn <br />No: None <br />Motion carried. Resolution 2019-115 amended 7-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Council received a thank you card for sending flowers to Mayor Kennedy's mothers' <br />funeral. The card will be shared with Council this week. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />None. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2019-109 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with TTX Electronics to <br />provide infrastructure upgrades to the City telephone system, as approved by the Board of <br />Control, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Schumann moved for adoption. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously. <br />Roll Call: <br />5 <br />
