Council Minutes of 5-19-2020
Committee members said they preferred the two projects be in separate
legislation.
Councilman Kelly requested a moment of personal privilege. Friday, during that storm I
got a call from a resident on Park Ridge who happens to be my daughter. Her and her
family had their second flood in their house in a six year period and have lost thousands
of dollars of stuff again in carpeting and personal belongings. Also, I'd like to give
kudo's to the Service Department. Because while I was out waiting in their neighbor's
driveway, who has a sunken driveway, trying to get the water to go down there, the sewer
jet truck came by and was kind enough to stop and talk to my son-in-law and explain to
him that there was nothing they could do with that particular truck to help with the issues
going on trying to get the water to go down in the storm sewer. But, they could have just
drove past if they wanted to, but didn't. They were very kind about it. I'd like to tell the
Mayor and the Service Director what a great job those guys did. Thank you.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
None.
LEGISLATION
Ordinance 2020-53 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. Councilman Schumann moved to suspend the rules
requiring three readings as this was heard in committee and as the Director pointed out
when suspension was requested we need to hold everyone to this budget as soon as
possible and we need to cancel purchases and create an environment of understanding
regarding our financial situation. The motion was seconded by Councilman Brossard and
passed unanimously.
Roll Call:
Yes: Schumann, Brossard, Kelly, Limpert, Glassburn, Hemann, Williamson
No: None
Motion carried.
Councilman Schumann moved for adoption.
