Council Minutes of 6-16-2020 <br />• On a sad note, Director of Safety & Service Glauner is retiring effective <br />September 1. The City thanks him for his hard work and dedication over six and a <br />half years. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• No Report. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• The CARES Act details came together fairly late in the game. Thank you for <br />accommodating the schedule so funding can get in place. <br />• The State of Ohio Auditor has had people back on site since last week so we are <br />making progress on our audit. <br />• There have been meetings with different directors and department heads regarding <br />the budget. The Recreation Commissioner is keeping an eye on the budget after <br />having to cancel the summer camps and other programs and will make <br />adjustments as needed. <br />Council President Jones, Committee of the Whole: <br />The Committee of the Whole met on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 7:05 p.m. Present were <br />Council members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kelly, Schumann and Williamson; <br />Council President Jones; Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau and guests. <br />• Council discussed the signed report from the Charter Review Commission. <br />Council requested the Director of Law write up the legislation for each issue, <br />which will be discussed in the Intra -Governmental Relations committee. <br />• Also discussed was returning to City Hall for Council meetings. There was <br />discussion about how City Hall was preparing and it was decided Council would <br />continue monitoring the situation before making a decision. <br />Councilman Schumann asked for a moment of personal privilege. Director Glauner you <br />are breaking my heart man. So sorry to see you go, I really mean that. But I don't blame <br />you in the least and I wish you all the luck in the world. <br />Councilman Schumann Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Schumann, Brossard and Kelly; Council members Glassburn, <br />Hemann, Limpert and Williamson; Council President Jones; Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Director of Safety & Service Glauner and guests. <br />• Discussed first was Resolution 2020-62. A Resolution adopting the alternative tax <br />budget of the City of North Olmsted for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2021, <br />and submitting the same to the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer and its Budget <br />Commission, and declaring an emergency. This Resolution is to demonstrate the <br />need for property tax collection of both the voted and un -voted millage. This is <br />the estimated request for the Cuyahoga County Budget Commission. It is required <br />every year. Committee voted 3-0 to recommend to Council. <br />
