Special Council Minutes of 6-30-2020 Mr. Sturgeon wanted to thank Council and said it was a pleasure working on the Charter Review. He said the Commission put a lot of hours and discussion regarding potential amendments. Council President Jones thanked him and the Commission for the service they have provided to the City. LEGISLATION Resolution 2020-52 introduced by Mayor Kenned was given its third reading. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract to purchase a new Ford F550/5500 Ford truck for use at the Wastewater Treatment Plant from Mtech Company and to include installation of a maintainer crane assembly and incidental equipment from Maintainer corporation, at a combined cost of $131,888.00, through the State Purchase Program; and further authorizing the Mayor to execute all contract documents. Councilwoman Hemann moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Glassburn and passed unanimously. Roll Call: Yes: Hemann, Glassburn, Williamson, Kelly, Limpert, Schumann, Brossard No: None Motion carried. Resolution 2020-52 adopted 7-0. Ordinance 2020-65 introduced by Mayor Kennedy on behalf of himself, Councilman Glassburn and Councilwoman Hemann was given its third reading. An Ordinance providing for the submission of an amendment to the electors of the City of North Olmsted to Article VII, Section 3 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted for the purpose of eliminating the Parks and Recreation Commission and reassigning the duties of the Commission to the administrative staff, and declaring an emergency, as amended. Councilman Glassburn moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed 5-2. Roll Call: Yes: Glassburn, Schumann, Limpert, Kelly, Hemann No: Brossard, Williamson Motion carried. Ordinance 2020-65 adopted 5-2. Councilman Glassburn voted yes with comment. I would like to thank the 2020 Charter Commission and Chairperson Sturgeon as well for all their hard work to deliver this package of reforms to help move our City forward. Each of these measures that were recommended by the Commission after great deliberation are merited and it was an honor to be a part of the process as well.
