15, 10 Employees shall be permitted to contribute sick leave hours to a sick leave bank, for use <br />by any employee who has exhausted all of his own sick leave under the following conditions: <br />A. The Sick I-eave bank shall have a maximum balance of fifteen hundred (1500) <br />hours. <br />B. Employees that have Suffered any illness or injury in the scope of their <br />employment and have exhausted the benefits of Article XVII or were not covered <br />by the provisions of Article XVII may draw frorm the sick leave bank after their <br />own sick leave bank has been exhausted. <br />C. Employees that have suffered any IIIncss or injury to themselves or their <br />immediate lamily outside of the scope of their employment may dram from the <br />sick leave bank only after the employee has exhausted all of their own sick leave <br />bank. vacation and holidays. <br />D. Any employee that contributes sick leave hours to the sick leave bank shall not <br />lose any sick leave bonus as granted by section 15.2. <br />E. No employee shall be permitted to contribute more than one hundred (100) hours <br />during his term of employment. <br />I." Employees who have used hours from the sick leave bank shall be required to <br />repay the sick leave bank one ( I ) hour for every two (2) hours used. I''mployces <br />shall be required to repay a rninimum of tvv-o (2) hours per pay period. Should an <br />employee not be able to repay the sick leave bank prior to his separation from <br />service then the sick leave bank shall be credited from his separation check. Such <br />requirement of repayment may he waived by a majority vote ofthe- Association's <br />F.wcutive Board of Local 1267 and the Chief. <br />ARTICLE XVI LEAVE OF ABSENCE <br />16.1 In addition to medical leaves to which they may be entitled to under the Family Medical <br />Leave Act (T -MLA"). employees may he entitled to take a personal leave of absence with the <br />approval of the Fire Chief. .Any leave of absence for personal reasons shall not exceed a ninety <br />(90) day period. If the personal leave ofabsence is for an event which qualifies for medical leave <br />under FMLA, then the Employer may require the employee to take the leave as medical leave <br />under the FM LA. <br />16.2 To maintain any benefits normally paid by the Employer, the employee on a personal <br />leave of absence as provided for in Article 16.1 or on a medical leave under FMLA, shall pay the <br />cost of such benefits to the I inance Director on the first day of the month for which the benefit <br />payment applies, provided. however, that en'rployees on qualifyinp medical leaves under IMI A <br />shall not be required to pay the Employer's share of their health insurance premium while oil <br />such qualifying medical leave. <br />(S <br />
