ARTICLE. XXV HOURS OF WORK <br />25.1 The basic work week for Line Personnel assigned to platoon duty shall be an average of <br />forty nine (49) fours. <br />25? Lrnployces assigned to Fire Prevention duty shall work a forty (40) hour week. <br />25.3 T\vcnty-four (24) hour shifts shall commence at 0700 hours in accordance with the <br />Normal Work Schedule. <br />25.4 In order to facilitate the work week of forty nine (49) hours, Line Personnel shall be <br />entitled to additional time o1TVvith pay. known as Kelley Days. All Kelley Days shall be taken <br />during the year of entitlement, shall not accrue from year to year, and shall be selected by the <br />Employer, <br />25.5 The Employer shall annually provide each employee with an eight (8) shift cycle <br />schedule and indicate the eight (8) still! cycles in �4Inch the Iimployer has scheduled his Kelley <br />Day's. <br />25.6 To alleviate scheduling problems, Kelley Days shall be taken as scheduled. Kelley Days <br />shall be scheduled by January 1 of each year, and shall not be rescheduled for any reason without <br />approval of the Fire Chief. <br />25.7 Any chanLc in shift assigrnnent other than fi)r Light Duty shall, except in an cmer«ency. <br />require the Chief to provide seven (7) days evrittcn notice to any affected employee indicating the <br />beginning and expected end, if any, of such change. <br />25.8 L`rnployees shall have the right to exchaI12C hours vyhen, in the opinion ofthe Shift <br />Officer, such changes iiia not interfere with Dire Department operations. All such changes are <br />subject to the approval of the Fire Chief. No Overtime shall be allowed and no additional cost is <br />to be incurred by the Employer due to such changes unless shift change %vas approved prior to <br />any class being scheduled. <br />ARTICLE XXVI LIGIIT DUTY <br />26.1 The Fire Chief or his designee may at his discretion assign an employee to Light Duty. <br />should an employee be unable to perform his regular job tasks. The employee shall provide <br />upon request of the Fire Chief, medical certification from the employee's physician citing the <br />emplovice's physical limitations, explaining vvhv the employee can't perform his regular job task <br />and responsibilities and a prognosis of how long the employee will be unable to pertorm his <br />regular job tasks. <br />26.2 The employee may submit a request to the Fire Chief or his designee to he assigned to <br />Dight Ih►ty. The employee shall first submit a request to the Fire Chief or his designee along <br />with corroboration from the employee's physician citing, the employee's physical limitation, <br />
