Thereafter, such employee shall advance to the next higher step on each subsequent anniversary date of hire or promotion until the employee reaches the maximum step. Employees promoted on or after July 1, 2018 shall advance to the step that correlates to the years of service in their previous classification. (For example: Laborer 13 that is on the after Completion of 3" year is promoted to Labor A After Completion of 3"1 year rate, etc). 34.04 Any employee who requests and receives a voluntary demotion shall be placed at that step in the wage schedule that most closely equals the cmplo\ce`s rate prior to demotion. Employees who are promoted shall be placed at the step that corresponds with \,cars of service earned since their last hire date. 34.05 All employees in the Wastewater 'I'reatnicnt Plant and Systems Employees who obtain a Class 1, II, or III license shall receive the license incentive contained herein. Fillployees will receive an additional seventy-five ($.75) cents per hour for acquiring a Class I License and an additional seventy-five ($.75) cents per hour each for acquiring a Class 11 and Class III License. 34.06 Each employee shall have the right to convert overtime hours into compensatory Time on a dollar -for -dollar basis. Employees shall convert no more than eighty (80) hours of m crtime into compensatory time per calendar year. 34.07 Employees may have the right ti) take compensatory time with a 48-hour advance notice and when the time off does not interfere «,ith the operation of the Service Department. The taking offoi'such compensatory time shall be subject to the approval ofthe Service Director or his designee. Overtime shall be converted to compensatory time at the current rate ofpay plus longevity on a dollar -for dollar basis. 34.08 An employee shall be paid for unused, accumulated compensatory time at his or her current rate of pay plus longevity at the end of each calendar year.
