I am sad to report retired
North Olmsted Police Captain Richard Metzger passed away a week ago Sunday. He is a
longtime resident of North Olmsted and spent his career in North Olmsted rising to the
rank of Captain. When he retired from the North Olmsted Police Department he went to
work at Rocky River Municipal Court as a uniform bailiff, where he was working up
until the time he was hospitalized as his heart got weaker. He passed away at the age of
81 and he worked almost until the last day of his life. So he was a busy guy, a good man
and a loss to the City of North Olmsted. Thank you.
7
