Council Minutes of 8-17-2021 <br />Councilwoman Hemann said but it's not dead, it's an active piece of legislation in his <br />committee. <br />Councilman Limpert said that is correct. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2021-46 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Human Resources to solicit proposals for excess <br />insurance coverage for the City health care & hospitalization plans for 2022, and further <br />authorizing the Mayor. subject to approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a <br />contract for said insurance coverage. <br />Ordinance 2021-49 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2021 and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance 2021-50 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to make a limited duration, interim appointment from <br />the current staffing complement to vacancies in the position of Director of Public Safety <br />and Director of Public Service, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance 2021-51 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to purchase one ambulance rescue squad for the North <br />Olmsted Fire Department through the State Purchase Program from Horton Emergency <br />Vehicles for a price of $353,431.00 and further authorizing the Mayor to execute all <br />contract documents, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance 2021-52 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance authorizing the Director of Planning & Community Development to make <br />applications to Cuyahoga County and the State of Ohio for the Ohio Water and <br />Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program for the South Interceptor Equalization Tank <br />Project, and declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Hemann moved to suspend the rules <br />requiring three readings and formal committee review as Director Lieber addressed it in <br />Caucus this evening. It's a State of Ohio grant program and an application is due quickly. <br />We will apply to the State and the County deadline is tomorrow and in order to be <br />considered for the top 10 list and perhaps at a priority level we need to make the <br />application quickly. This would also be in the best interest of the public health and safety. <br />The motion was seconded Councilman Schumann and passed 6-0. <br />Roll Call: <br />Yes: Hemann, Schumann, Brossard, Kelly, Limpert, Williamson <br />No: None <br />Abstained: Glassburn <br />Motion carried. <br />
