Special Council Minutes of 12-22-2021
Personally, I want to thank him for his collaboration and mentorship in standing up for
what he thought was best for the City of North Olmsted during his time as a
Councilperson. Thank you Paul.
Councilman Kelly Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee:
The Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee met on Tuesday, December 14,
2021 at 7:51 p.m. Present were committee members Kelly, Brossard and Hemann;
Council members Glassburn and Limpert; Council President Jones, Director of Human
Resources Gallo, Assistant Director of Finance Sperling and guests.
• Discussed was Resolution 2021-83. A Resolution authorizing the Director of
Planning and Community Development to make application on behalf of the City
of North Olmsted for Cuyahoga County Supplemental Grant Program; further
authorizing the Mayor to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a contract
with Cuyahoga County, and declaring an emergency. This grant has a maximum
award of $50,000. If awarded it will be used for security cameras at North
Olmsted Park, the Recreation Center and other areas. There was no one from the
City to speak on the matter, but Council President Jones talked about the
importance of the cameras. Councilman Glassburn said he hoped Clague Park
would be included when the restrooms are added. The committee voted 3-0 to
recommend to Council.
Councilman Brossard moved to allow Council to meet virtually, if necessary, through
March 31, 2022. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Glassburn and passed
unanimously.
Roll Call:
Yes: Brossard, Glassburn, Kelly, Schumann, Limpert
No: None
Motion carried. Council authorized to meet virtually, if necessary, through March 31,
2022 by a vote of 5-0.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Jeff Sturgeon
3092 W. 231
Mr. Sturgeon asked about the W. 231 grant. He wanted to know if it was just going to be
a pave over or something more.
Mr. Limpert said he had not seen a full proposal of the grant program, but there had been
a desire to look at pavement markings and the width of the road.
Mr. Sturgeon said it would be nice if it could be widened and markings be added to the
road so people can continue parking on it.
Mr. Limpert said Mr. Kelly highlighted the comments you are saying today.
rel
