Council Minutes of 04-19-2022 <br />• Law Department initiated two pieces of litigation involving enforcement of the City's code <br />on residency restrictions with regard to registered sex offenders. <br />• Director Gareau reported to Council that a new home is being erected in place of a <br />dilapidated home that was torn down by the City and further noted the approximately <br />400 -year-old tree on the property will remain. <br />Councilwoman Williamson, Chairwoman of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: <br />The Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee met on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 7'.02 p.m. <br />Present were Committee Members Williamson, Kelly and Glassburn and Council Members <br />Hemann, Limpert, Gilchrist and Scarl, Council President, Mayor Jones, Law Director Gareau, <br />Safety Director Scofield and guests. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2022-28. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept the <br />donation of exercise equipment from Dick's Sporting Goods, valued at $5,151.38, to be <br />located at the North Olmsted Police Station for use by the North Olmsted Police <br />Department, and declaring an emergency. Director Scofield reported the equipment will <br />be donated by Dick's Sporting goods and reside at the North Olmsted Police Station. <br />Motion was made to recommend approval of R. 2022-28 and passed 3-0. Committee <br />Meeting concluded at 7'.05 p.m. <br />Councilwoman Hamann, Chairwoman of the Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee <br />did not have a report but asked for a moment of personal privilege to welcome new Recreation <br />Director Pinchek and is looking forward to working with him on the Rec. Center plans. <br />Councilman Glassburn, Chairman of the Finance Committee: The Finance Committee met on <br />Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 7:05 p.m. Present were Committee Members Glassburn, Limpert and <br />Williamson and Council Members Hamann, Kelly, Gilchrist and Scarl, Council President, Mayor <br />Jones, Law Director Gareau. Finance Director Copfer and guests. <br />• Discussed was Ordinance 2022-27 amending and re-establishing Chapter 141.99 of the <br />Administrative Code. entitled "Composition and Organization of the Department of Public <br />Service' in order to update the Organizational Chart for the Department of Public Service <br />and was recommended on a vote of 3-0. <br />• Also discussed were the ARPA fundswhich at that time had not been introduced as <br />legislation but is now R. 2022-39. Discussion primarily focused on the limitations, <br />possible initiatives and timelines of the program. Was not voted on at the time because <br />it wasn't legislation and the meeting concluded at 7.34 p.m. <br />Councilwoman Gilchrist, Chairwoman of the Intra -Governmental Relations Committee: <br />The Intra -Governmental Relations Committee met on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 7:37 p.m. <br />Present were Committee Members Gilchrist and Scarl and Council Members Williamson, <br />Glassburn, Limpert and Kelly, Council President, Mayor Jones, Law Director Gareau, Finance <br />Director Copfer and guests. <br />• Discussed reappointments to Commissions: Reappoint Dan Rahm to the Building and <br />Zoning Board of Appeals, for a five-year term ending 12/31/26, Jim Morse and Gretchen <br />Schuler to two year terms ending 12/31/23 on the Landmarks Commission: Ed Garrity to <br />the Recreation Commission for a four-year term ending 12/31/25 and Julie Nader to the <br />Planning & Design Commission for a five-year term ending 12/31/26. Motion to <br />recommend appointments to Commissions passed 2-0. Committee Meeting concluded <br />at 7:40 p.m. <br />
